It's a year after our characters first met and the rebellion against the Uppers has kicked off, with the higher floors of the Neath being occupied by the army and AIS. They were caught off guard at first by the surprisingly effective guerrilla tactics of the Nethers, but now they're bringing in the same machinery and skill that they've been using in the war against Africa.
With the presence of the AIS in the Neath, the quashing of the fighting has been going much more smoothly, especially after rumoured sightings of Hale.
Speaking of which, that war is still waging across the ocean, however new disturbing reports have been coming in from the frontlines of mindless soldiers with no regard for personal injury, or indeed no will of their own. It might just be a coincidence that some seem to have similar features to those of the missing Nethers. But with a war waging in the Neath, will anyone have the time to investigate it, especially when the person with a key clue is so entangled in the fighting?
