Awesome job guys!
It would be great if there were more male characters.
The ones I have seen look great.
Why do we capital-N Nerds love Mars so much?
Because it's beautiful, it's tough, it's buried in our mythic, childhood memories.
It's covered with human triumphs but also with sad stories of failure.

I'll join this! I'll have my character up by Sunday. If not then, most likely Monday or Tuesday.

Just thinking about it- if 16 years ago they were embryos, then aren't they all 16? I'm working on my CT and was curious.

Fabulous job guys! I believe we now have enough people to begin planning the beginning of this storybook. Others can and probably will join a bit later and that is great.
*pulls out pencil and notepad*
Alright everyone here is an important question. Do you want your character to have romance? It is totally fine if you don't and the opposite is also true. I just want to see who wants it. If you do and there is already someone your character will have feelings for please share. It is alright if that character doesn't feel the same way. It is also totally cool if you would prefer to wait to decide until we get started with the posting.
Just be sure to collaborate on this stuff.
Once we get everyone's characters approved we will discuss the plot more. Just be thinking of a plan for why they migrated.
Thanks a lot everyone!

Sorry to post so much but Memequeen (the creator of this SB) sent this to me regarding their biology

-they're very light to enable flight
-they have a very fast metabolism and must consume between 3,000 and 4,000 calories a day
-they are mostly bone and muscle
-their wings cannot be easily hidden because they're so big. (13-19 feet depending on the individual)
-they break bones easily because they're less dense than normal human bones
-they heal a little faster than usual
-their eyesight is probably better than normal
-sometimes stray feathers grow in the place of hairs
-have a very good, innate, sense of direction

I'd be alright with my character having a romance- she kind of needs someone to care about her. She's not going to be happy about this but as far as her life goes my word is law.
We are who we are, and if someone has a problem with that; that's their problem not ours.

When it comes to bird anatomy, birds are light enough to fly because they have hollow bones. I think the only way for wings, even 16-19 feet, being able hold a human is if they have hollow bones. An albatross (bird with largest wingspan, 6 feet) weighs only 19 lb. If our characters' wingspan are about 3 times that of an albatross, they could probably only weigh about 60 pounds at most. Obviously this is a work of fiction, but I figured I'd share the math anyway. :)

Feather might be in a relationship later, but I don't think Kalin even knows what romance is...

Both of my characters would probably be okay for a relationship.
Don't resist the water. Welcome it.

Once @Steggy makes a character and responds to this along with @PixelPrince we can begin to talk about the plot a little more and the biology of our characters.
