Alright, Timeline is under way! :D

For everybody's posts, it'd be cool if we all used this code at the top for your character's name and stuff (it's also at the bottom of the intro post for easy access):
Code: Select all
[small-caps]Character Name[/small-caps]
Time Period: Specific Setting

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled
and do not be afraid.

So... I noticed, Wolfare and Megrim, that Jacob/Kun and Mr. Matsumoto's profiles do not contain any information as to their ability to speak Chinese. (Rydia's character, I'm sure can handle the language gap, seeing how I can manage with what little Chinese I speak.)

Maybe those of us in the Han Dynasty should discuss how we'll write through the language barrier?

And just because I am curious...

Wolfare & Megrim:
Spoiler! :
Do you two know the written characters (Kanji, I guess, for Megrim) for Kun and Mr. Matsumoto's names? I always like knowing how to write the characters for people's names, but if you're not interested in researching that, it's not really a big deal. :)

I suppose he would have studied ancient Chinese when he took on the job at Critech and was assigned to that period in history. It would make sense for him to be competent and able to translate, probable read and write it too. Maybe get stuck on weird or uncommon words now and again.

I'm going with Kun has absolutely no idea and he didn't think about that when he grudgingly agreed to come along -- since Chinese was never spoken in their house. So... that will be an issue for him xD

Also, I would research it, but I'm rather lazy >.> Sorry, Buggie.

Note- For future reference, please say the language is Mandarin or Cantanese (the less popular language), as no language such as Chinese exists. Also, my professor is from China (the Han Dynasty one), so he'll be able to speak ze language...

Who's interested in posting second? The challenge should help you all know how to begin.

Xiu Mei will be able to manage enough Mandarin to just about get by but she'll certainly come across as slow and not very good at it to the natives.

Great, @Pretzelsing! :)

Dutiful says her wifi hasn't been working and she's off to college soon, so she can't join. @TheWanderingWizard, want to help me make a condensed CP for the Mongolian Assassin character?

@Wolfie36, if the children just now travelled back in time, what are the Historians and Guards supposed to write? I mean, we haven't received the letter and all... Unless someone travelled into the future, saw what would happen if they didn't help, came back, and summoned the Historians etc before the children disappear?

Also, my Han professor is done; it's just saved on my phone. I'll also get cracking on that condensed profile.

Yaaaaayy, now all our characters are in! :D

No, it isn't that complicated. The vibration will have sent everyone underground to the main control room, where they'll find no one, of course, and the parents will freak out because their kids are missing. But because of the time traveling regulations, no one can leave until each party has an expert of the time period and a guard with them. And so six letters are sent to the guards and the historians as quickly as possible.

As a historian or guard, feel free to write about receiving the letter, and don't worry about the time jump. Our only parent character would be the only one who could describe anything between.

Ugh. Sorry for never ever saying anything in here. I am still with the SB though!

Um, is there anything that us historic-people writers should be doing at the moment?

Yes, @Buggiedude2340. Do as the challenge thingy tells you, writing about your character's normal life so as to introduce the past that the rest will soon be in. Then, naturally, the kid comes and you're welcome to write about that, too.
