Well, if we were to look at the Romans and their predecessors the Greeks, Minoans and Estruscans, then the girls aren't supposed to be receiving education at all, and the boys would receive education until their fathers sent them to either be an apprentice or a soldier, thus the boys would leave the education system between the ages of 8-18, depending on their fathers' preferences.
On the topic of marriage, the early marriages (when girls married at 12-14) only started happening in the Medieval time period, and before that women were more free with their marriage ages, but all before they were twenty-five, of course. Thus that depends on what we decide to do.

no one benefits from overthinking and overcomplicating the uncomplicated. like stellabear said, uniformity is good, but we don't have to have gender disparities at all.

that said, none of this applies to my character because holy wow so old.

I agree with above said because that's what I wanted in the first place. XP I think thinking about the exact type of societies are just going to complicate things. And education no matter how it's taught is essential to a society, plus since this is a modern type of society (living among the modern world simply without technology) it can have most modern culture implemented along with the old.

You guys I am a terrible person I'm sorry but college has been eating away the past few days. We can talk about all of this stuff once we get together our planning session, which will happen as soon as I can round up all of your schedules and decide on a good time plus complete the necessary pre work.

i dunno if i'd be game for a planning session, el. i mean, i can roll with whatever happens and fit my posts into a grand scheme, but a workshop session is a level above how much i can dedicate to the sb.

maybe make a cheat sheet at the end of the session like i give my players? that makes it easy to follow both plot and character style.

I'd still like to have one just to organize our thoughts, but if you've got other stuff go for it and I can totes make a cheat sheet for you and anyone else that can't make it.

After thinking about it further I suppose that we can skip the plotting session since all of our schedules are very busy, but then before we start I just want to clarify a few things that will factor into our first couple of posts.

After the rest of the village goes to sleep, Carson leads a series of secret nightly meetings who want to discover what lies beyond. It's not necessarily that they are openly opposed to the ways of the village (as they have no concept of the world beyond) but just that they have grown bored and tired of their lives and the monument represents a beacon of hope for them, but they are secret because older villagers (such as @Lumi) have encouraged them not to rock the boat. But eventually, they will find out.

From what I'm understanding about your characters, @StellaThomas and @NicoleBri, you would not be involved in the meetings, at least not at first, but would become more aware of them and eventually decide what you want to do.

The nightly fires will be very important for our characters since it'll be a time that we'll all convene, and while you guys are free to create your own NPC characters I definitely encourage fostering relationships with the other members of this SB.

And from there we'll see where it goes. I have a few ideas for plot twists that I'm going to keep secret for right now, and you guys are more than welcome to throw out any ideas you have or ask any questions right here.

Some info about my post and why I did it that way.

I just wanted to give some background on her relationship with her ex and also her view point of the monument. Also, I wanted to explain how she managed to get into the secret meetings because I figured that most women would not be allowed to be a part of it?

And I think Lyon (her ex) could be a friend of Carson, maybe not a close friend but like a "Hey I know you!" friend. x)
