Lumi has taken an Alchemist.
@SuperNintendo and @Shadowlight have taken the Pyrologens.
@Aquestioning has taken one Astronomer.
@Leahweird has taken a Hydrologist.

The remaining classes are:
1 Alchemist
1 Hydrologist
1 Astronomer

The two that remain are Alchemist #2 & Hydrologist #1 (David's sister).

At this point, @SuperNintendo, @Aquestioning, @Shadowlight, @Leahweird, @Rosey%20Unicorn, @VampireSenshi512, and @Lumi should be subscribed to both threads for updates and the inevitable beginning...which is drawing close.

Those outside of David's party can group up or create your own beginning sub-plot before the Real Deal starts rolling. Remember that we have a little playtime to get adjusted to our chemistry and to pry into our characters' heads before we hit high-gear. A warning, though! Once we hit the plot, we're gonna be flying like a Zelda game.

Once everyone posts their profiles (using the new system--not on the thread itself), and I see which weapons of choice you select, I will distribute beginning spells and combat stats (which sounds a lot more complicated than it is, I promise).

--> I'll probably start as soon as the last profile is in. Expect anytime between tomorrow and Monday!

Are the eight characters the only ones being summoned, or are they just the player characters in a larger group?

They are, at the time, the only ones being summoned. If more people are interested than the original eight, I may add in extra slots. Maybe some non-artists who are just great tacticians or good swordsmen, etc.

But the simple answer is: however many Players we have is how many are being summoned.

@Nutty has taken the final Hydrologist, and should subscribe to both this thread and the main Storybook thread.

As soon as all profiles are up, our story will begin.

So a question about Alchemy - what sort of mechanics are we going to base it on? For example, Fullmetal Alchemist style mechanics? Or what.

For the sake of keeping things neatly in the Four Elements trope, Alchemy is gonna be like 90% Earthbending. Stone projectiles, small quakes, augmenting your defense by transmuting your armor into a harder substance, crippling an opponent's defense by rendering their armor useless, etc.

As far as transmutations go, there'll be no flame alchemy / explosive blood alchemy / etc. It's all earth-based. Maybe later on we'll have an opportunity to transmute other forms of matter...but we're just starting out at baby levels, so it'll be simple stuff.

SO as for my Pryo,

I assume it's going to be an amalgamation of fire bending from avatar and flames like FMA?

Do Volcanic type things fall into the same category as flames or no?
