Wearing less clothes
is my clear sign
of spring's arrival.

Clearly,
by April, it would be here,
however,
the "sign" hasn't appeared yet.

Spoiler! :
Hello Buranko! Interesting thread title! I like the image that springs to mind there -- and the potential for comparison between an ink pot and a honey jar . . .

The first poem leaves me quite curious -- I wonder what the "sign" was. I like the speaker's tone. I thought you managed to convey two different attitudes, the first stanza confident, and the second one more frustrated/ lost, which is neat especially because the poem is on the shorter side.

Happy NaPo!

well…
finding a good book
hurts
simply because it ends

why aren't they
endless; heaven is
eternity and
a good read…

water
isn't hydrating enough
tonight we're drinking
fire!

make it rain,
never to stop; make sure to
harvest it
well enough.

frost
bites into our
fragile skin
leaving its recognizable marks

yes! we enjoy it
otherwise
how would anyone be happy
under this terrible weather?

creating
playing cards one at a time
is fun
until...

until there is
a full deck that won't accept
any more, so it revolts.
tonight... tonight they are disturbed

fear isn't
in anyone's vocabulary
or… wasn't

until,
like cold water when you sit in a puddle,
seeped into it

Spoiler! :
Interesting pieces! I particularly like your 3rd poem with the line "tonight we're drinking fire" - that felt both intense and playful at the same time. The idea of a full deck of cards that "revolts" in your 6th poem also captured my imagination.

Spoiler! :
I think poem #2 is one we can ALL relate to, particularly the line ->
heaven is eternity and a good read

I also love what you did with poem #5, whence you actually incorporated typos to bring the poem to life - I thought that was super creative!
Another piece of imagery I love is from poem #7:
like cold water when you sit in a puddle,
seeped into it

!!! Fear being compared to slowly being drenched is just!! Wonderful metaphor! And the imagery of water also ties into the other poems that mention water, rain, weather in your thread, making it cohesive!
Great work, Buranko!!! <333

"be ready
for anything"
warned The Magician

continuing in her hoarse voice,
she added
"The World
is a predictable fool
don't worry;
however,
The Fool
isn't"

Spoiler! :
Really clever tarot references there Buranko! I like the irony of The World being a fool in the sense of being predictable, while The Fool is unpredictable (and so perhaps not a fool after all?). Since the first stanza mentions a warning, it kind of feels like the poem is portraying fortune as being divided in two - the predictable "World" and then the unpredictable.
