This is kinda cliché, but stepping away my angsty tendencies- I wanted to spend time writing about how we view ourselves; aswell as broken relationships.
I originally wanted to work more with more abstract imagery. But this is something that has been weighing on me recently. And maybe, just maybe, someone could find inspiration in it.
I also don't know know if I will entirely embrace this theme?

Anyway enough of the explanation no-one needed...

Rivers painting pictures of me I wish I could erase

3. Goodbyes from the person I wish youforgot

How does healing come?
Is it taking a walk in open fields
away from a life that tried to tear you down

or is it walking through the battlefield
of people that tried to take you down
but you kept going anyway

is it diving into deep rivers
that no-one ever knew
and taking a breath

Maybe it's washing your hands
in the rain that wet your cheeks
and drinking in the salty memories
from nights that left you empty

endings are the hardest part
but saying goodbye sets you free
If I say goodbye to you
will you erase me from your memory?

Windblown and battered

6. The scars I hide with your indifference


why does it feel so wrong to smile?
So wrong to feel sad.
Like my problems don't matter
my mind endlissly replaying the fact,
that others deal with more
The brokne recording reminding me
That my feelings can't compare
people are starving
people are dying
people live in fear
I have to take the sorow of the world on my shoulders
before I can sing my own song of sorow
I put you before my every need
I wil starve to keep you fead
I will stay awake, so you can rest your perfect head

It's funny how
We can look on with contempt
While we commit out own treason

I really like the strong perspectives you take in these last two poems tackling really tough questions and making me think about them in new ways. The last poem seems like it captures some of the aggravating aspects of hypocrisy and the 2nd to last one is very powerful too. I enjoy your poetic voice / perspective Quill!
