1.)

My heart is a deep ocean
with embedded secrets
elusive to common man.
The clear calm water
doesn't define who I am,
but the colossal storm
in this same blue body
is what truly reflects me

Not everyone can steer
through these giant waves
triggered by mental trauma.
But still I ride and navigate
through the high rising tides
bringing a plethora of emotions.

Take a dive into the depths
of my heart to find those pearls
hidden away from greedy eyes.
But beware of the living horrors,
creatures from my haunted past
lurking in the dreary trenches
to guard those precious treasures.
I only put my signature on big cheques.

<3 @Hkumar thats a wonderful poem with which to start off napo.
My favourite lines are :

"Not everyone can steer
through these giant waves" &
"But still I ride and navigate
through the high rising tides"

also

" But beware of the living horrors,
creatures from my haunted past
lurking in the dreary trenches
to guard those precious treasures."

Okay maybe I love all the lines. :P

2.)
those gentle pearls
which rolled down
against your cheeks
where did you hide them?

the radiant smile of yours
that would bring dawn
of optimism in one's life
why did you put it away?

don't bury your laughter
in silence and
the joy of your face
on sad lips.

never be that fallen star
which was lost in the dust
and forgotten with time.

I only put my signature on big cheques.

3.)
Fortunate are those who
rise to the twittering birds
and greet the morning light,
well rested with the energy
and enthusiasm to drive
through a productive day.

Not so fortunate one's like me
depend on sedatives for sleep
and a brew of black coffee
to awaken their lethargic bodies,
our eyelids heavy with sleep
we drag our bodies to work
while our brain still lay unconscious.

All thanks to our disrupted
circadian clock that broke
after a history of negligence
kicking in the nocturnal mode.

But I swear I'm still alive on the inside
I mean zombies are still humans right?

Oh, wow, I really love that third stanza...

All thanks to our disrupted
circadian clock that broke
after a history of negligence
kicking in the nocturnal mode.

These are all interesting poems with some clever metaphorical turns. Keep it up and hang in there <3

4.)
Grief has no timeline
from what I have learnt
don't expect someone
to just get over with it
because you don't know
how suffocated they feel.

Scars carved on my heart
will never heal with time
for things I have experienced
are too traumatic to just obliviate
but the guilt and regret left behind
will last forever as long as I shall live.

Shadow
unlit, dusky
growing, shrinking, stalking
an emotionless replica,

Aah H all the poems in this thread are so raw and beautiful <3 You do such a wonderful job of conveying really intense emotions as images in all these poems. (Also on a purely aesthetic level I love the different font colours you've chosen for your poems, they match each individual poem so nicely!)

I think one of my absolute favourite images you've used so far is this one:
never be that fallen star
which was lost in the dust
and forgotten with time.
but gahhh they're all really poignant :)

Scars carved on my heart
will never heal with time
I think this summarizes beautifully that pain and grief aren't always just intense, temporary pain and metaphorical bleeding, they also have a longer and less immediately obvious effect <33

I also really love the simplicity of your cinquain, you chose some super strong description words - I especially enjoyed "unlit, dusky" and "growing, shrinking, stalking" but eep it's all beautiful!

Keep up the incredible poeting, H <333
When you're faced with something you don't understand, I think the most natural thing but also least interesting thing you can be is afraid.

Spoiler! :
Hey Hkumar, Alice here!!!

Your poems invoked so many emotions in me, all your poems are phenomenal. The ones my favorite are the second and forth poem.

My favorite lines

don't expect someone
to just get over with it
because you don't know
how suffocated they feel.

It is so frustating when peaple suggest you to just forget it, I know they just want to console us but why can't they understand it's not that easy.
Your poems conveys the emotions very well.

In the second poem I can say all the lines are my favorite,

the radiant smile of yours
that would bring dawn
of optimism in one's life
why did you put it away?

those gentle pearls
which rolled down
against your cheeks
where did you hide them?

Such beautiful lines, absolutely beautiful.

Best of the luck for the rest of the month!!! Don't forget I will be waiting for your poems.
Imagination is a superpower. Use it well!

6.)
let your emotions flow
in this river called life,
let it soak up all grief
as it cascades down
from the rocky terrain
waltzing into green plains.

let absorb the happiness
in this undulating course
and enjoy the wonders,
don't let the toxic sorrow
pollute your azure water,
never allow it to stagnate
when you hit the low lands.

for every heavy feeling will
be washed ashore on banks
and every tear carried faraway
where the river meets the sea
and life finds a new beginning.

7.)

your footsteps left behind
across the white sand shining
silvery under the moonlight
leading me to your new home
they vanish into the sea-shore
but i can feel your presence
somewhere on the other side
but worry not my beloved sister
we'll reunite once again very soon
for it was death that brought us apart
and in death shall we meet once again.

Too often we crave the extraordinary in life, without even learning how to cherish the ordinary first. Friend, I promise you this: if you can learn to take joy in the simple mundane things in life, the extraordinary will take care of itself, it'll be on its way, hurrying towards you. But if you skip the first part, it'll ever evade you.
