say can you remember when everyday was airplanes soaring un- waveringly and blue skies eternally even in the stream beds on the darkest corners of the feild
Spoiler! :
acrostic

seeing in color can easily add to the clarity of what is happening now but it also can add to the beautiful delusions that say we arent being crushed under incorrigable stacks of sediment carved by time, like how fish become embeded in the banks of streams.
Spoiler! :
acrostic again :P

stacks of books in the library stacks of books moving forward through the ages of their lives did nemo think there was a moral to his story did he predict under his fins would lay glory and a movie and some spin offs with diluted story just for the sake of more
"i dont slay i slaughter, luke i am your father..." ~fatherfig
nocternal, lying dormant under the water i can barely see the light... but this instinct, this feeling, tells me i can fly... so i begin tearing through my encasement, only begining at a snails pace, chipping it away. slowly i lose energy, i start feeling as if the light is fading... but the instinct surfaces again. when i touch the layer with my fin, and it gives way. i swim out into the open, freedom, finally... i look around to find, i can finally see...

hi hi gem <3 I keep meaning to stop by with a comment for you and then I don't oops <.< but here I am at last to leave a comment on your lovely thread :) First of all can I just say, I love all the fishy pun titles you have here xD they make my soul happy ^^ I also love all the sound devices you use in your poems - the rhyming, the alliteration, the assonance, it's all super lovely.
i dont think i've ever seen a self-depreciating cod, and i'm pretty sure goldfish think all figures are hot.
this was a couplet I didn't know I need but oh my gosh did I ever :'))
have they not my well wishes float like snakes on the water moving effortlessly
aah this is such a striking image <3
i am just a goldfish invasive in a non native stream
:'(( aah but also, "invasive in a non native" has some really lovely sound effects.
how dare -> eep I adore the attitude in this one "rude" xD also the idea of sun blinding fish is so unexpected to me, but it works really well!
poseidon rises -> oooh I've never seen an acrostic formatted to the right side of the page, but that's such a neat idea! I like how it makes the acrostic-ness of it more subtle, it makes it feel less like "oh this is an acrostic" and more "oooh it's a poem that spells out vivid!" (does that even make sense? I swear it does in my head xD) I also adore the image of "suddenly pouring in thick pools shuddering volitiley", eeeee that's such a rich image :)
i have fishues -> this poem <3333 I love love how you incorporated the forward dash into line four, it creates this intense pause after the statement "gender crisis" that's so so impactful <3
only children -> wait what? that is so cool, I had no clue we can't see actual yellow. Gosh those fish peeps be magical <.< That's such a cool concept for a poem, too, and I think you used it superbly here; especially liked the line "the starlight they draw just / happens to be in shades of yellow" c:
memories have metaphors -> well okay I love this title <3 something about the images in this poem are so nostalgic, too, they really take me back ^^
weighted ankles -> ah "beautiful delusions" </3 I'm so impressed by how you start with a positive image -- that seems like it cannot possibly be taken in a negative light -- and then change it into this dark, stark metaphor. 10/10.
Aah overall I'm really loving your NaPo thread this year! You make writing 30 poems in a month look easy peasy <3 good luck with the last few, I can't wait to read some more feesh poetry :)
When you're faced with something you don't understand, I think the most natural thing but also least interesting thing you can be is afraid.
as my head fell underwater i wondered do aquatic creatures ever look into the mirror, and the little squid said to the fish as they began to swim do i avoid the ones that i love and tell myself i hate them? swimming quickly past like water flowing by i stamp the page, sigh
even when a leaf holds itself lowly, violet and shining so suddenly pouring sadly sweeter then i expected when i landed myself in trouble telling secrets to no one my eyes dont know who orchestrated this mess. mockingbirds and doves dont sing tunes to bass light hits the shining surface breaking with a roaring sound do fish wake up hyper with their minds still in the bed
rocks bloop, starry fish vicious fishous swimming to the dock smell that days living fin pokes remote tiredly following aimlessly kites blowing...
say can you remember when- seeing in color could be done easily?
stacks of books... nocternal, lying dormant under the water. lost fish.
Spoiler! :
april montage in honor of the fish unwritten <3 i took the first line from every poem and made a poem with them, changing them as needed to make a big poem about the life of this accountant fish during april ,, looks like they've been busy <3 (even though i didnt get near 60 poems im happy with the thirty i have and i think this is a fitting way to end my napo thread. <3)
