I might try this, as it is my first time experiencing NaPoMo. My goal is five poems in April.

If I don't succeed, please don't judge me. Thanks! :smt117

Ha! As a habitual pen chewer, I liked the last line a little too much. I also love the tongue twister title. Keep up the good work! :D

Your latest poem definitely resonates with me and makes me think about how there are so many people today that do not have a place they can call home, which is even more unfortunate today with everything that's been going on lately. Looks like you've done 2 out of the 5 poems for your goal which is great, keep up the good work!

Haiku

What is a haiku?
Lines and words, like poetry.
This is a haiku.

Hi there! It looks like you're having fun with the haikus. "Difference" has that element of contrast that is part of traditional haikus. "Haiku", while it seems straightforward, has this interesting phrasing "like poetry", implying that perhaps the writer doesn't consider haikus poetry.

Technically, these aren't haikus, but senryus. Haikus are more focused on nature. This site has some more information about how to write a traditional haiku. I'd also encourage you to click around and see if there are other forms you'd like to try. Keep writing! :D

We All Perish (looking for title suggestions)

As we sit down our dinners,
As we open our romantic novels,
People perish.

We sip on our water,
their heart stops beating.
We study our notes,
their planes plummit.

We live,
they die.
We breathe,
they suffocate.

We are at the hands
of luck,
of chance,
of probability.

We are blind lambs,
Trotting on our path,
Before we perish,
Suddenly,
and vanish into death.

Ah the last poem is dark! [but kind of timely I think!] Love that you're trying out some free-verse poetry LZ - my favorite image in the last poem was the blind lambs trotting -> something about that detail, just made it all the more chilling! Keep up the good work! :)

I sorta hate this poem so Im not posting about it on my wall, but here it is :)! Its about a person that Ive known for eight years now, but who seems to not want to be friends anymore?? Idk, shes just... being weird. But anyways, heres the poem! :D

Friendship
Hold on to our friendship,
Even if it seems to be going downhill.
Hold on to my love,
Even if yours is worn out.
Hold on to the memories,
Even if you dont want to make new ones.
Hold on to the photos,
Even if you want to burn them.
Hold on to our friendship,
Even when its broken.

Your last two poems, We All Perish and Friendship, are my favorite so far! We All Perish is a bit dark, but I love the contrast that you have in it. As for your poem Friendship, it is one that I can definitely (unfortunately) relate a lot to. I've lost a few friendships as I've grown up, and a lot of them resulted in me feeling like that for a while.

Keep up the amazing work!

As you post each poem, it's very obvious that you're improving. "We all perish" is a poem that fits with what's going on in the world. And "Friendship" is a beautiful poem too. Holding on to friendship - I love it.

Looking forward to reading more!
