~let us find comfort not in sense but in sound,
let civilisations crumble, empires fall
let the pages of history rewrite itself
into beams of slanted sun~

✾~a prelude~✾

we will find each other
in the hall of aging hearts
dancing to the music of time,
please, close your eyes
we are but the whispers of wondering
souls, searching for those who
will listen

πŸŽ•~1st of April~πŸŽ•

i'm sick of hurting, you say
sick of the crimson stars
streaking at night.

sick of buried sorrows
guised in pretty metaphors,
hidden in hieroglyphs
only the dead deciphers.

this year, let's scatter
dayblooms together,
under this canopy of stars
we will watch how april
blooms into the soft-lit
skies of may

☁ 2nd of April ☁

Image

you told me last year, tears choked
between your larynx.
of how
summer felt like a graveyard of sorrows.
the sun, in its unrelenting heat
had scorched you to the bone.

this year, i'll shelter you from the heat.
flowers will bloom
where you have once been hurt,

your sorrows will rewrite
itself into moonlight's carefree whisper
waltzing across the windchime
by your door.

☾ 3rd of April ☾

Image

in our youth we chainsmoked
on the roof of your car,
burning away the days -
blurring them into washed-out
afterimages we swallowed at
sunrise.

now nicotine stills clings to our skin,
stubborn reminders like forgotten change
left in the bottom of your jean pocket.
your lungs are an exhalation of exhaust
sputtering out, the remainder of your days.

if this is how it all ends,
with rain on an autumn night,
highway lights
in our veins.
and nicotine etched in our
blood

i'd gladly jump into your arms
for we are the universe
in ecastatic motion.

Spoiler! :
don't smoke pls, it's bad for you

today, there is no poetry.

Spoiler! :
APRICITY! Your thread looks so artsy and polished! (I'm putting my comment in a spoiler so I don't detract from its look!) Really enjoy the gifs your using and how they comment on your poetry.

In poem 2 I thought this was especially catching,
"this year, i'll shelter you from the heat.
flowers will bloom
where you have once been hurt,"

beautiful sentiment!

Looking forward to reading the rest of the thread, what you've got is really enjoyable so far!
you should know i am a time traveler &
there is no season as achingly temporary as now
but i have promised to return

β™₯ 5th of April β™₯

our time spent together
is a greenhouse in winter.
a reminder
of how things can grow, even
in the harshest of seasons, if
we choose to cherish it.

my mother's hand, wove
the cloth of eternal summer on my
shoulders.

on the veranda she sat, catching beads
of warmth from the sun, the buzzing of bee wings
skirting amidst the gardenias.

my mother wove the cloth of
eternal sumemr that now sits on my shoulders.
in winter, it is a hearth of love so fierce
even the snow dare not touch us.

my grandma told me, rainclouds
were in fact the mythology of another land.
vapours from the cooking of foreign spices
rising up, condenses.
filled with strangers' love,
and stories so full, it transposes itself
across mountain ridges and
riverlands

@Liberty, Oh, you're the bestest and the kindest <3. Thank you so much for the compliment, I really do appreciate it. I've honestly had my doubts about this Napo thread which is why I haven't been writing as much. But, thank you for giving me the courage to go on.
