under the evening sky,
sitting with the man i've
loved since 2009.

his hand takes mine.
i turn my attention away
from the sprinkles of
light in the sky to
his smooth face.

he has no eyes.
i scream.

the rain falls
softly~

hitting your window sill.
your window is open,
the cool summer air
blowing in as the
lamp light from your
desk glows eerily.

you look up from your desk.
you squint.

a sinking feeling slams into
your gut as you realize
the rain is not made
of water.
no, that's... that's...

why is it raining mayonnaise?

On the evening
................of December 11th,

........you gave me
a ride back to my house.

...........but you passed
my house,
.......and we had to turn around.

I don't love you anymore.

Spoiler! :
trying not to disrupt your artistic flow with my comment by putting it in a spoiler -

As I mentioned in the shout-out thread my favorite so far is absolutely the April 3rd one. I mean if there's a poem that describes 2020 so far - that's it! And I love the creative combo of words and images always.

This last poem is incredibly tragic, I think a lot of people can relate to the heartbreak expressed the stilted line breaks and format like a cliche-break-up poem definitely sold the message too.

Keep moving the creative meter up - I want to see where you'll go! :)
you should know i am a time traveler &
there is no season as achingly temporary as now
but i have promised to return

sweet dreams are
j e l l y f i s h
in a sea of
heartfelt sobs and
unspiced rosemary
chicken.

there's no point
to rosemary chicken,
if you don't season it.
and that's the
truth of a jellyfish's
life.

floating,
aimlessly,
through an endless
void of blue.

when the water
rolls back with
the moon, and
the jellyfish are left
on the beach.

that. that is when
the
rosemary
chicken is
s p i c e d .

seagulls!

i saw an amish
girl, in a carriage
in upstate new
york.

i recognized her,
even though i
had never seen
an amish carriage
before.

judging from her
expression, she
recognized me
too. . .

this girl and i, we
were connected
by fate, or by a
past life, i'm not
sure.

i don't mean some
corny, "born to be
in love" blabbergisk,
but we definitely met
in a past life. and it
was not a passing
interaction.

that was when i heard
of nirvana.

also I actually love this stanza in the april 5 poem:

there's no point
to rosemary chicken,
if you don't season it.
and that's the
truth of a jellyfish's
life.

I love the form of your poems, Sheyren. They look visually appealing and help the lines of your poetry flow effortlessly and naturally. Great job!

form? is it just
another atrological
phenomenon?

is there a more
significant meaning?

are we nebulae?
what are we?

i look to the sky, tears
streaming down my face.
