this pit of a heart

every year i carve
further into the cavity
embedded in rock
and dried tears pressed
into pale tissues.

with each drag of
the axe, i whisper
my nightmarish figurines
that follow my
shadowed steps
and echo my
darkest desires.

oh how i wish
that they would treat
him the way they treated
me when i lied about
stupid things and
not what he did

A Lesson on Location

San Diego,
closer to Baja than LA,
but the northerners seem to
think that the state cuts off
at Anaheim
and the kids down
south cross the border
all the time cause
it’s fun.

a last bit of hope

i like to end my poems
with a thought, of something
more profound than
my normal daily routine,

and this time all i can think of
is that maybe sooner than
later i can step outside of

this house that my parents
already seem to dislike,
and say goodbye to what
i disliked living with them

and that i will have at least
two years to bury my head
in the diet, to cry in the
bathroom, to smile widely

and to take a breath of
air that was free
of outside interference.

Spoiler! :
fin.

Um, so this was a mess and an utter disaster and for that I am sorry because I was looking forward to NaPo for quite a while, and I think my poetic style has some digressed because I thought my last year’s poems were improving. Oh well. The last few weeks have been tough on everyone, so I know that this time affected me in a few ways to influence my poetry writing as well. Thank you to those that read these miserable poems (<3) and for the comments on my wall.

I didn’t leave many comments this year on people’s threads and I feel bad about that but I haven’t had too many words lately that I’ve let myself think or say. I’ve tried to read through as many threads as I could, and I honestly enjoyed every single one of them. I hope you all are hanging in there and can still hold onto some hope or positive feelings. I need this stuff feelings right now.

And I have a feeling a lot of people do as well. Take care of yourself to the best of your abilities. I shall as well. Hope to see you all sometime soon. Maybe I’ll be more active soon. Maybe I’ll change my name again. Love you all c:
