[Poem #26 - Kaleemallah (The one who spoke with God)]

...وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ مُوسَىٰ إِنَّهُ كَانَ مُخْلَصًا
"And remember Moses in the Book. Truly, he had been one who was devoted..."

[Poem #27 - Roohallah (Spirit from God)]

"[And remember] when the angels said,
"O Mary, truly God gives thee glad tidings of a word from Him,
whose name is the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary,
high honored in this world and the Hereafter,
and one of those brought nigh."

— The Quran [3:45]

[Poem #28 - The outcasts]

زَمْ زَمْ
"Stop! Stop! [flowing]"

— as per tradition, the words repeated by Hagar
in a frantic attempt to contain the spring water

for by the grace of your Lord
you are not a soothsayer or a madman."

[Poem #30 - the return]

يَا أَيَّتُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ ۝ ارْجِعِي إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةً

Return to your Lord,
well-pleased, well-pleasing."

You did it! I really appreciate how your NaPo came full circle, it felt like a collection of stories within a larger story (which is a bit how scripture works I guess). The ending piece was a beautiful book-end to your NaPo, and poem 30 was comforting too. I like how you mixed together both the themes of "end / death" to that theme of returning and recalling the promises and stories of our spiritual ancestors and the history of humanity / creation.

Poem 28 and 29 also had wonderful narrative elements in them too - the story of Hagar and Ishmael is in the Bible too of course, but your depiction makes me want to read through the Quran's version - it's very heart-catching. And I love the open-ended way it ends with the promise from God, "I will make him a great nation" which connects so well into in the whole creation theme from the beginning as well as playing with the ancestors & loneliness themes from earlier.

Congratulations on completing 30 poems, and on writing such an impressive and thoughtful collection - it's been a real delight to read through this month.
you should know i am a time traveler &
there is no season as achingly temporary as now
but i have promised to return

Spoiler! :
I am so sorry for going so long without commenting! I have been keeping up and totally lost track of how many days had gone by without a comment. You did it! 30 poems in 30 days! Huge congrats on that! I really love the way you brought some strong religious themes into the end. The poems were short but thought-provoking and connected through this theme.

The story of Hagar is one of my favorites because in Christian tradition, Hagar is the first person to call God a personal name: "El Roi", meaning "God who sees". It shows God's way of lifting up the oppressed and the lowest in society and using them to accomplish His purposes.

Congrats again on completing 30 poems! I can't wait to read more tipsy posts and poems :)

Thanks @alliyah, I really treasure your insights on my works, more so because I see a kindred spirit in you. Thanks for leaving feedback on this thread not once, but twice.

Thanks @Tuckster, I really appreciate your kind words and feedback from time to time as my NaPo buddy. Glad to see you get some poetry written as well, even though you could write a total of five only. You tried.

Thank you @bluewaterlily for your encouragement throughout the course of this month. Thanks for that.

Thanks @BluesClues for checking on my thread to read and leave comments.

Thanks @mckaylaam for doing the same.

Thanks @Mea for your occasional comments and likes. I really appreciated those.

Thanks @Liberty for your lovely comment as well, I hope your mom got around to finish the tafsir course that you mentioned!

Thanks @MeherazulAzim16 for your comments as well. Glad to have you as my other NaPo buddy.

And thank you everyone who took the time to read my thread, left likes or shared feedback on my NaPo outside of this thread as well. Much appreciated.
