these empty halls
speak to me of
secrets and death
where the living die
and the dead stalk
with dragonfire
high above and
broken crypts
far below
in the deep and
the dark

46. keys to heaven

my angels whisper secrets
of old, long-forgotten
valleys and hidden
palaces
to me, and they say
"go forth and conquer,
chosen one,
and bring home all
things gold and burning"
and i ignore them
for they are liars and
all my demons
tell me so;
my demons are
my gods
and my angels
are the devil.
tell me how to put
the devil down
and i'll give you the
keys to heaven.

my demons tell me
lies about
the keys to heaven
but i cannot help
believe them
because all my angels
are also demons,
and they speak only
truth when all
i hear is lies;
tell me how to put
down the gods
and i'll give you the
keys to hell.

48. keys to purgatory

do you believe
in god and the devil,
in all the angels and
your demons?
speak to me of hidden
valleys and grand
palaces where
secrets dwell
and tell me how to
kill god and the devil,
and i'll give you the
keys to purgatory
where all our monsters
dwell deep down
in the dark spaces
between realms.

49. all your worst desires

the night is dark
and full of terrors
where demons lurk
and angels linger
between shadow and
flames, down in the deep
and the dark between
all your worst
desires;
you can't lie to me now
so why don't you
follow
me down.

50. not today

dead men tell
no tales
and there are
monsters which no
man can kill
but she is no man
and she is not
dead yet;
call her name, ask her
what she says to the
god of death
and she will say
"not today"
and "today, the god of
death will die"
and dead men tell
no tales and
there are demons which
no man can kill
but she is no man
and she is not
dead yet;
she is your new
goddess of death
and she says
"not today, not today"

Okay. I blinked, and now we're at 50!!! What?! You're amazing Scar! Congrats on much surpassing NaPo! Your final poem reminds me of a line @Oxara said once, "dead men don't play drums in chat" or something like that... I think the short lines in it really made that one have a "punch" too. Well done! Congrats!

This reminds me of Arya stark teacher in GOT in season 1-2 of the TV show with the "not today" to the god of death (I haven't got that far in the books yet.)

Also yes this shockingly like my Poem line of "Dead men play no drums." Which caused both me and Alliyah to write poems of, which I think will live on in infamy.

Anyway 50 poems, is really incredible. Great job
