(human AU cuz soulmates, and I’ll start)

Solomon awoke with a start. Whoa... this room was so big and cool! And fancy... was his soulmate really this rich?? He quickly got up, and rushed to the mirror. He blushed at the sight of his soulmate’s body. Whoa... he certainly got lucky.

James, on the other hand, woke up in the slums, sleeping on a "very comfortable" mattress on the ground. He was 16 now, and wouldn't get to have a proper party like usual. He knew that, but almost felt angry at the fact that his soulmate got to have his presents for the day. Nonetheless, he managed to find a broken mirror and peered into it, tilting his head to get a better look. He wiped some dirt off his- No, his soulmate's- face and got a better look. If he looked a bit more tidy, he'd be a very striking young man. James blushed at the thought.

Solomon felt quite joyful as he walked downstairs. He was astonished at the sight of all the presents. His mom would never be able to afford all of that!! It was a bit of a giddy feeling for him, so he didn't notice much when one of his soulmate's parents walked in.

"Hm? Oh, you must be my son's soulmate! Pleased to meet you, I am Victor."

He held out his hand for the young man to shake.

He blinked softly and shook his hand.

"Solomon Pyroman, nice to meet you, sir. ..What's my soulmate like?"

"Doesn't have- Oh dear, my son's soulmate is poor-"

He thought for a moment.

"I'll be right back."

He left and came back with a thick envelope filled with money.

"Don't spend it all in one place.

...Oh! It's your birthday as well, is it not? I set up some presents for you."

Solomon blinked, his eyes widening and glittering. His expression soon fell, however.

"...It's a very kind gesture of you, sir, but I won't be able to take any of this with me when I switch back..."

"I thought of that, don't worry. Open your presents and then I have another surprise for you."

Meanwhile...

James walked into the next room, greeted by a woman sitting in a rocking chair.

"Good morning! My name is James Gold, it is but a pleasure to meet you!"

He held out his hand for the woman to shake, before realizing his was dirty and wiped it in himself, seeing as he had no other option.

Oralia glanced up from her book. She smiled, getting up and shaking James’ hand.

“Well, aren’t you a polite young gentleman! Im Oralia. Please, make yourself at home. I apologize, it isn’t much...”
