After class, Cloud walked up to Ken, "It seems that you already know it was me."

Ken nodded. “That was interesting. So what, did we just freeze the entire class period and everyone else kept going?”

"No. I just warped time. You know . . . uh . . . bent the strings," said Cloud. It was difficult to explain in words.

“So could any of them tell what you did?”

"No. Just you. I thought you might have wanted a demonstration. In return, could I see a demonstration of your power?" asked Cloud. He couldn't help it. It was the most intriguing and potentially the most dangerous power he had seen in the past decade.

Ken laughed. "Nice try kid. But I don't usually demonstrate my power. It kills people, remember?"

Cloud then smiled slyly, "A stomachache doesn't."

Ken smirked. "Alright. Who do I do?"

Cloud pointed to a random person a little ways down the hallway they were walking down. Ken braced himself, then pretended to accidentally stumble into the jock, focusing on pushing a stomachache towards him. “Oh, I’m so sorry,” Ken apologized, reaching out a hand to help him up. “Are you alright?” He watched him with a bit of fake concern. “Are you feeling okay? You look like you’re gonna be sick.”

The jock groaned, mumbling curses, and stumbled down the hallway in the general direction of the nurses' office.

Cloud smiled, "Interesting. I expected the effect to be slower. Your abilities are very fine toned."

Ken shrugged and grinned. “I sped up the process. I could’ve planted the seed for a stomachache three days from now, but that doesn’t seem like much of a presentation.”

"But," said Cloud, smiling, he took a deep breath and warped the stomachache into Ken for an instant. After that instant, he warped it back to the jock, who went back to groaning, "How about that?"

Ken shrugged. He didn’t like this boy trying to show him up, like he could undo his power. “I don’t really use my power anyway, so you being able to reverse it doesn’t really matter.”

"I apologize. I was trying to clarify that I would prefer if you didn't try something sneaky," said Cloud.

Ken narrowed his eyes. “If you’re threatening me, come forward and say it. Though I would suggest you don’t. You may be able to warp time but I could give you a heart attack that kills you before you have the time.” He smiled. “I won’t though, if I don’t feel like you’re forcing my hand.”
