“We’re safer...” Patton said cautiously, “so you should get some sleep.”

{It’s okay!}

After a few moments longer of convincing... “...Fine.”

Patton sighed in relief. “Alright then. That’s good.”

Janus yawned, walking up to his room. He was more tired as of late, anyways. This was because of being half snake. Since it was colder, his instinct was to hibernate, but he couldn’t do that because he was half human.

Patton watched him leave and sighed a little. What should he do now?

Janus crawled into bed, curling up and falling asleep. But as he was resting, he remembered why he hadn’t been sleeping... because of those oh so horrible nightmares.

Patton wandered around, looking at the different things. There wasn’t much. The food had been taken, so it was probably raided at some point, but there were still some interesting things. Some old board games, a pack of cards, some piles of textbooks.

Janus whimpered in his sleep. Loosing all of his friends, everything he’d ever known... it replayed again and again in his dreams.

Patton heard a noise coming from the room Janus was in. He frowned and creeped a little closer to the door.

Janus was trembling, curled up tight. He looked so sad and lonely and terrified.

Patton frowned. "Janus?" He whispered, but Janus didn't respond. Patton glanced at the door behind him, then back at Janus before slowly approaching the bed. He pulled back the covers on the other side and slid in next to him.

Janus’s whimpers quieted slightly upon feeling something else there. He naturally latched onto it. He was a pretty deep sleeper during hibernation season.
