Hi there! My previous Will Review for Food Thread kind of died when I had to take my school-related break from YWS, but now that I'm back, it's open again, and I'm free to review all I like-- and I will.
Most of my reviews are around 400-500 words in length and focus on things like characterization, plot, worldbuilding and narrative voice (especially characterization--I love me some characters); with maybe a bit about imagery, pacing, and structure if I notice something exceptional about them. Also, grammar and usage are areas of expertise for me, so if you're worried about proofreading things like that, I'm your girl.
My specialty is fantasy, but I'm willing to review any kind of prose piece. I love to read anything you've got, and I'm totally willing. I'm especially up for reading novels-- I find it much easier to talk about the content of a piece once I've really gotten to know the characters and the plot. I'm all for short stories, too though-- really, as far as prose stuff goes, I'm not picky.
I'm also open to stopping by art pieces! I'm not an expert by any means, but I took four years of art in school and I love looking at and talking about it.
Poetry and lyrics, on the other hand, I'd really prefer not to review. ^^; Sorry, I really do like reading poetry, but I have no idea how it works. You can ask me to review, I don't mind, but keep in mind that whatever critique I leave might be kind of shallow and lame. XDD
My reviews are totally free-- I just want to become more a part of the community on YWS, but I'm shy and I figure this will force me out of my reviewing shell. XD Of course, if you want to visit my portfolio and leave a review on something, I won't say no. But a lot of it is lame and old anyway, you probably won't have much fun reading it. XDD
So ask away! Your wish is my command.
