The next Review Day begins this weekend! We're going for 600 reviews this time, and we will be using review teams once again. Review teams are a way to team up with others to see how many reviews you can do as a group over 24 hours.

So what is a Reviewing Sunday? On the last Sunday of every month, YWS holds a reviewing day. This means:
  • No new literary works can be submitted (you can wait 24 hours!)
  • The Featured Works block on the front page is changed to a Last 5 Reviews block
  • You can earn up to 100 points per review instead of the normal 50
  • You can join a Review Team to compete against others

Now, because the Earth is round and it tends to spin, not everyone has Sunday at the same time. So we're going to go by Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and declare 12:01 am GMT to 11:59 pm GMT as the YWS Reviewing Sunday. Some international times for that are below:

United Kingdom: 1:01 am (Sunday) to 12:59 am (Monday)

United States & Canada
Atlantic: 9:01 pm (Saturday) to 8:59 pm (Sunday)
Eastern: 8:01 pm (Saturday) to 7:59 pm (Sunday)
Central: 7:01 pm (Saturday) to 6:59 pm (Sunday)
Western: 6:01 pm (Saturday) to 5:59 pm (Sunday)
Pacific: 5:01 pm (Saturday) to 4:59 pm (Sunday)

New Zealand: 12:01 pm (Sunday) to 11:59 am (Monday)

Australia
Eastern: 10:01 am (Sunday) to 9:59 am (Monday)
Central: 9:31 am (Sunday) to 9:29 am (Monday)
Western: 8:01 am (Sunday) to 7:59 am (Monday)

India: 5:31 (am) Sunday to 5:29 am (Monday)

I think many people will be glad to have the teams back, they are always a big hit with everyone and they are a good chances to get to know other YWSers and have a bit of fun! Thankfully I will be able to participate actively this month which I am really happpy about! I'll see you guys on the day!

Great!

Just a note, Nate (or should I put this on the Bug thread?): the link that says "You are already a part of a review team, please wait until wait next month to join a new one" and "Click here to go to your team's page" or something, it took me to the club "Your Novel", not my review team.

Grahhh. I'll miss this one. I'm gone all weekend.

Good luck to everybody who participates!

Woo! Go review day! Unfortunately, I might be busy most of Sunday/Saturday. I should still be able to squeeze in a couple of reviews, but question:

Would it be cheating to write the reviews ahead of time, save them and submit them when review day starts? xD Just so that I feel more accomplished and whatnot.
Guuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurl.

got trans?

I'm going to try to join in, if the weather permits it... The hurricane is apparently coming my way... :pirate3:

Heh, the hurricane could throw a wrench into the plans. It looks set to hit nearly every populated region along the US mid-Atlantic and North-eastern seaboard, which is where 16% of YWSers hail from (including myself). Hopefully it either goes out to sea, or comes ashore in a relatively unpopulated area. The current track, though, looks bad for New England.

Isha ->> That's not cheating, and it's something that a lot of people do.

Yay! I get to review during a hurricane!

No, actually the internet might go down because of the power, so some people on the east coast might not make it. Just saying.

Unfortunately, I can't make it! D:

I am going to be studying all weekend. Noooo! I really wanted to be Roman for a day! Damn you homework and your cruel, cruel ways. Not kidding guys, I have so much homework I think I am going to change back to my old avvie because studying is killing me!

But anyways, good luck to those who do it! :D
I spy!

Do reviews of art and photography still count as reviews? Do you still get points?

Reviews in Art & Photo always count as reviews, but not toward the Review Day goal. And yep, you still get points for them.

Well, I hope to make it, but this Sunday I'm gonna be fairly busy with my dad almost all day. I may squeeze off ten or nine, but don't expect anything big at all.

Wow. 93 reviews in just the first hour! That goal of 800 reviews is looking to be pretty low...

I'll see where things are before I go to sleep, but I may end up raising the goal.

This is a message to all you out there. You don't have to be the fastest writer. You don't have to write 2000 words in one sitting. But if you put your mind to it and really love your project, you can and will get further along than you ever thought possible.
