Seeminglymeaningless, there's no limits. But, that's within reason. Of course, an 80 page novella or a 10,000 line epic poem have a pretty low chance of being accepted just due to our limits! However, whether a poem is 1 line or or 100 lines makes no difference. For short stories, whether something is 100 words or 10,000 words also doesn't make much difference.

Cspr, if you have a question, it's better to just simply state it. In any case, mild violence is probably fine. If you're not sure, submit it. We've never rejected a work for violence or language (although with language, we have asked the author to change some words).

Would a poem appearing in captain.classy's e-magazine be considered published? If so, then I'll just have to write something else! :D

 I sort of entered the wrong file. I forgot to edit it; it was meant for a different site that was having a contest that had different ways of doing things. Can I edit it and send it in again?

Knightley, technically, that does count as published. But since captain.classy is a classy JM, it'll be fine. So, no worries. Thanks for checking.

Gspp, once I get some more time on my hands after Saturday, I'm going to add more stuff to the submission system that'll enable you to check the works you've submitted. I'll be sure to add the option to change the title.

It's not just the title that needs changing, though. Where Italics should be there's "<em>" and "</em>", and there's a little disclaimer at the top that I forgot to get rid of before I sent it in... *headdesk* This is why you don't enter contests when you're half asleep...

Can scripts be submitted under the short stories category? I mean sketch comedy or one acts, not a full length film of course.

Wildebard: Aye, scripts can be submitted under the short story category.

I believe I got an actual, physical letter. I should get around to framing it. xD

Last time people got an acceptance email, and the contract was a physical letter.
