You can now earn points by welcoming new members in the Welcome Mat forum! For every member you welcome to YWS by replying to their introduction thread, you will earn five points.
You might be asking why we're doing this. The answer is simple: welcoming new members is a core part of YWS. Just as YWS would perish if no one reviewed, the community would perish if we didn't have new members joining the site. As the Welcome forum tends not to get as much attention as it should, this should hopefully increase activity in that area of the site.
Of course, there are some provisos!
1. You can earn at most 5 points per topic, so only your first reply counts.
2. Only topics from the past month count.
3. Only topics made by users who have been on the site for three months or less count.
4. The max and the min is 5 points.
