Well, I've gotten tired enough of the "I can't resize my photo" complaints that I've decided to do something about it ;)

Fortunately enough, the fix was surprisingly easy. Only required editing a couple lines of code and no new programs to do it.

The absolute dimensions are still the same: 100 by 100 for avatars and 320 by 320 for profile photos. However, if your image is greater than those dimensions, then your image will be automatically resized to those dimensions (proportionally speaking). I've tested it out, and it works great. It also has the added benefit of making the image size smaller (an 86 kb image turned into a 14 kb image with no loss in quality).

Should be very useful I think.

Brilliant, Nate! I've seen this on several other forums, and hoped I'd see it on here some day. Very handy.

Does the decrease in file size come from a compression technique, or from something else?
