As many of you may know, YWS was down for maintenance earlier today. As part of that, though, the Young Writers Society was switched to a new hosting provider: Digital Ocean.

YWS' previous provider was Linode, and they were nothing short of fantastic. However, Digital Ocean offers greater flexibility with their hosting plans, which will be important as YWS continues to grow. Moreover, they're a lot less expensive, and they have received nothing but exemplary reviews from the web development community in the past year.

Looking forward, this change will enable YWS to meet any unexpected surge in demand in a quick and efficient manner. At the moment, the site seems to be growing at a rate of 6% per month, which, if that continues, could mean an almost 100% increase in activity from January 2014 to December 2014. Thus, it will be important that the resources available can be quickly scaled up or down.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
