Blogs, Clubs, Story Books- Oh My!

One of the great things about YWS is the fact that we don't just have Literary forums. We also have Blogs, Clubs, Story Books and many other wonderful things that bring us together as a community. Today, I'm going to take some time to talk about three of them. Blogs, Clubs and Storybooks!

-Blogs-

Blogs can be used for a variety of things. Whether you choose to use it as a way to advertise new writing by posting teasers, or as a way to ask questions or for advice, they're a wonderful thing that should really be appreciated and taken advantage of. To customize your blog, follow these steps.

>hit the gear on the row of black tabs
>click the Blog tab
>from there, follow the instructions

or,

>Hit the 'Blogs' tab
>on the right side panel, click the white button that says "Edit my blog settings"
>from there, follow the instructions.

-Clubs-

Clubs are user moderated mini forums that can be for almost anything. Whether you're trying to raise awareness for a cause, want something readers can subscribe too keep updated on your novel, they're really great and easy to create and subscribe too.

To create a Club, just follow these steps-

>First, click the gear tab on the row of black ones

>On the left side you'll see a tab that says "Create a Club"
> From there, just follow the instructions.

To subscribe to a Club, just follow these steps-
>Once you are on the club page, look to the right side of the page.
>Underneath the club's profile picture, there should be a 'subscribe to this club button'. Click it.
>A green message will then appear to let you know the subscription went through.

(To unsubscribe, just click the same link. It will read 'unsubscribe from this club').

To send a newsletter from a club you administrate-
>on the right panel, underneath the club profile picture, there should be a link that reads 'Send Newsletter'.
>Click it and then fill in the text and subject. This newsletter will be sent as a PM to all subscribed.

To post in the mini forums of the club-
>Click the 'Forums' tab inside the club page
>On the left panel, there will be three options 'Newest', 'Oldest' or 'Create Topic'
>Select 'Create Topic' and then fill in the subject and the text

(To reply, just pick a topic and scroll down to the reply button.)

To Lock, Delete or Edit a Topic in a club you administrate, follow these steps-
>Select the topic
>scroll down to the bottom, where you should see a bar with an arrow that says 'Delete topic'
>Click the arrow and select what you want to do
>Click the Go button

-Storybooks-

Storybooks are stories that use bring a handful of writers together to collaborate on a story together. (Another name that could be used is Role Playing.) You can create your own characters, and write scenes out together.

To create a story book, follow these instructions-

@Auxiira, to the best of my knowledge, there's no way to follow a blog specifically. However, if you follow a user, their blog entries should show up on the People tab just like when they post a new work.
