So after some months I returned to YWS and found that the interface has changed along with some other things.

I also found out that the horror genre isn't all that popular.

I decided to make it my mission to breathe some life into this genre. I will post only horror short-stories and will review every new story on there.

The good thing about a small community of horror-story lovers is that it can be way more personal.

Does anyone have a love for horror stories? Let me know here.
This could very well be the push that makes you move

There's actually quite a few of us interested in horror or Dark fiction!

It's more difficult to judge a forum's popularity now because there are all these little baby forums rather than a few big ones. My big WIP is Dark/Gothic, and while the first part is posted on here, I think it was done before all the changes, so it's under General, as there was no Dark/Horror option. Most of the horror stories on here will probably be under one of the other categories as a result of that. ^_^

Okay that's cool.

It is a shame those stories aren't easy to find anymore though.

Well, just check out the short story, horror page for three of my stories and others as well, if you're interested.

My thing is that I'm going to keep track of that page as well as the horror-novel pages. And I would like everyone that is interested in horror and writes horror to do the same. This way we could form a small group of horror-specialists that can give more personal reviews to help one another. It is also a good way to get inspired to write more and more as I get inspired to write with each review I get and every story I read.

I haven't found the time yet to check out the novel section though, I'll do that this week.

Horror is one of my most favored genres. Although I usually prefer horrors under the Gothic and supernatural branches than suspense and thriller.
Need some feed? Then read some! Take a look at today's Squills at In the News.

Dude, yes. Horror is bloody brilliant (excuse the pun). Personally, I tend to write urban fantasy or paranormal/supernatural, but I'm morbid. So it's urban fantasy, but the characters tend to be constantly in fear of their lives. It's more fun that way.

So my characters are made into Gladiators for freaks' who like to watch; or a guy sees dead people and either they adore him (imagine roadkill trying to cuddle up to you) or are pissed and try to kill him; some guy realizes his boss is a murderer; one girl is stalked and possessed by a ghost dog.

I could go on. I like good grammar, black humor, and scary things. So, if you have anything you'd like me to review that fits those three, or at least the beginning and end? I'm up for it.

One of my older mindfreaks is Barbara, which is a novella. However, you'd have to PM me a review, because it's locked--it's older.

Recently, though, I posted the revised first two chapters of my book, Haze, which starts off okay and then quickly veers to wrong-wrong-wrong. It might be to your taste. However, I also just posted "Pagan" (short story), which is paranormal and creepy.

If you'd like, I could link to them--any of those, probably. Otherwise, it's just cool to see a place to talk about horror/dark fiction writing, potentially.
My SPD senses are tingling.

I love horror. I love the suspense you get when you're either reading about it or writing it yourself! when writing horror people can add as much blood and gore as they want. they can find ways to sneak up on you get the little hairs on your neck to stan up! 8) :smt026

Ho! How was it that I failed to smell this thread when I lurked through the abysmal tunnels of this forum?

I love horror, as an art form only, though. I enjoy my nightmares, if they are not too twisted (my last one makes me feel sick even as I think about it). By that I do mean actual nightmares, not just scary dreams where I blow zombies to pieces.

Of all the projects which I currently work on, all at least have an underlying theme of horror. How could one hate the genre? It is beautiful, if excecuted correctly. Peace.

Great avatar, by the way. Looks familiar... What is it?
