Vignettes are-

a. "A short, usually descriptive literary sketch."
b. "A short scene or incident, as from a movie."
c. "To describe in a brief way."

Does anyone else write this way? My english teacher told me that this is how I write. He also said something about how at times, it can be a blend of poetry and fiction.

So what do you all think? A nice literary tool? Something to give a try? I'd like to see what your opinions are on this style.

I write mostly vignettes, and really, they're one of my favorite things to write. They're just long enough to give you something to think about or say what you want to say, but not so long that they require more than a brief break to read. You can really pack a lot into 500-600 words (with a couple hundred leeway in both directions), and it really teaches you how to write economically, concisely, and effectively.
