Hello people! Um, I was wondering... And there has been some debate on this, if the name Stella is any good. Because I know it's kind of girly but I want a name that starts with an S for her. Sidney and Sam didn't work. Any ideas?
I hope it's a good joke because otherwise I'll have got it for nothing...

I like the name Stella.

However, other ideas would be...

Sarah,
Sally,
Sadie,
Selena,
Serena,
Savannah,
and...
I'm out. :P

Well, I just went to babynames.com to try to help you. The Name of the Day happens to start with an S: Sprague. (They have several pages of S names.)

Personally, I see nothing wrong with the name Stella. It means Star. I don't associate it with being girly. It could be adventurous.

I like Stella better than Sprague.

Hi ^-^
I've been marveling over this particular story for a few years, and I'm finally going to write it. I've always referred to my leading lady as "Piper Herminosity". Every time I think of her--BAM! that name is slapped to her pale forehead in bold lettering :p
Sadly, everyone tells me how much they loath that name! (Piper) So I started thinking of it in a dimmed light, too. "Maybe it's too weird?" I'll think, or "Sounds unrealistic," "Impractical," "Unbelievable,". . . And so, I changed it to "Clarabelle" :(
I like that name too, but it isn't her! It couldddddddd be, if I forced it.... but I'm still attached to "Piper".
So my question is, despite all of my disputing thoughts (:p) which sounds better?
Piper Herinosity
Clarabelle Herminosity

Sorry to burden you, and thanks for the help ^-^

I don't mind Piper at all. I think the surname is distracting, though.

Okay guys, thanks c: I'll use Piper for sure. But if the surname is distracting, maybe I'll reconsider it....
Thanks so much ^-^

21WhiteRoses wrote:Could someone please help me come up with three of names:) ? The first is the father of the main character. He is very aristocratic, arrogant, and prideful. I pretty much consider him an antagonist. His name should be elegant, but should fit into a medieval/fantasy environment. The second is a woman who the guy I just mentioned falls in love with after his wife is killed. She's pretty mysterious and quiet. She in a way represents the moon, sea, and wind. She has silver hair and silver-blue eyes. The third is the main character's teacher. He is almost king-like but more humble. He is very wise and powerful. His symbol,I suppose, would be a golden fox. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! :D

William and Edward for the first?

Luna or maybe another name for "moon" in a different language?

I got nothing for the third.

I personally will look at other languages for names.

A name needs to be found for a male character: Tall, adventurous, strong. He gets captured by slave traders along with most of his village. He's not quiet per say, but thoughtful, thinking carefully before speaking. I've thought of names that start with g for him, Galen and Gavan, but they just don't quite suit him. I do want a name that starts with a g. Help?

I usually like use a thesaurus to help with my character. But I also like to check out foreign languages. I need help to find a name for one of my characters. She's ( My main characters are always girls) a fighter, but a pacifist. I usually have my characters names picked out BEFORE a story, but this one somehow slipped into my book, and now she's part of it. So she's unpopular. Any Ideas?

See the above nationality question. Also would help to know if it was modern day or not.

It's a medieval fantasy story and I don't care about nationality because he's an orphan and is unsure of where he came from.
