This is a fantasy story that I just thought of. It's about a knight-errant named Michael Andrews in a medieval European fantasy world where, after a gruesome battle between his brigade and the forces of the Eldritch Lord (An immortal sorcerer with the power to create and control lovecraftian beasts), travels throughout the continent of Promethea and survives by taking up quests and bounties. He deals with a lot of psychological depth as Michael is haunted by the demons of his past, tries his best to hold onto the chivalrous teachings of his mentor while being inflicted with the morally grayness of the world, and avoids a destiny that had been bestowed upon him since the day he was born. the story takes inspirations from, not only Lord of the Rings, but also Conan the Barbarian, Cthulhu Mythos, Dark Tower, Wheel of Time, Tenchi Muyo, Bastard!!, RPG games, and Record of Lodoss War.

The story is set on the supercontinent of Promethea that encompasses the northern and Southern Hemisphere of the world of Terra. the northern part is solid and intact and consists of mountainous terrains, forests, and grasslands while the the southern parts are shattered into archipelagos. it is home to a variety of races with the typical elves, giants, trolls, goblins, and dwarves, and unique ones like the Fianna, Swamp People, and the Florians. Humans are the most populated and diverse race, being divided into four or five human races like the Tyrians (Europeans), the Ilanders (Black), the Tien (East Asian), Ophirians (Middle Easterners), and the Northmen (redheaded vikings).

Characters:

Michael Andrews (Protagonist): Formerly a squire who was trained under Sir Stewart, he became a knight-errant after witnessing his master's brigade slaughtered by the Eldritch Lord. He is the last descendant of Apollo St. Yarden, the fabled hero who defeated the Eldritch Lord thousands of years ago. Michael is friendly and brave, but suffers from depression. originally wielding the sword of his deceased master, he discovers the sword Pendragon that once belonged to Apollo that was wedged in a pedestal inside a dungeon where only he could remove it.

Aileen Lucifera (secondary protagonist): An elf woman thief. She met Michael after attempting to rob his campsite while he was out hunting. She tried to kill him after going berserk from seeing the insignia on his chest, bearing the exact same symbol of the people that destroyed her village and killing her family. She even tried to kill him in his sleep as she broke free from her ropes. However, after seeing him cry in his sleep, she backs down and spares his life. She decides to join him and becomes part of his party after convincing her of how much money would be made in questing. Aileen can be cunning, cynical, and headstrong, but has a kind and gentle side. she is armed with dual daggers that belonged to her father. Aileen is the lost heir to the Elysian Empire that was destroyed centuries ago by the human kingdoms, and the one who is believed to be destined to rebuild the fallen empire. later on, she becomes Michael's lover.

Nia Simone (Third Protagonist): A female squire of Islander descent (A rarity in the feudal human kingdoms of Western Promethea) and Michael's first love. She was the squire of the pompous Sir Richard before his demise on the battlefield. She lost the lower part of her legs and was fitted with mithril prosthetics. Unlike Michael, Nia has abandoned knighthood and was recruited by a wizard who witnessed her release of mana during surgery. She has become a mage and has developed an inquisitive mind for the arcane. She is jovial and caring, but has become just as depressed as Michael. Although she was mad at Michael for leaving her in a medley at a Europa Kingdom outpost and pursued him to give him a piece of her mind, she still cares and loves him.

Thesseus Arcadia: A hinderkin berserker. he joined Michael's party out of chance after meeting them at a tavern. He is boisterous and energetic, but can be violent and aggressive in battle. Theseus has a weakness for women and ale. He is armed with a mace. His escapades are based loosely on Theseus of Greek Legend.

Eldritch Lord (Antagonist): A powerful immortal warlock who creates and controls lovecraftian beasts. He wants revenge against Promethea for turning away his gifts and condemning him into such a terrifying state. His powers are derived from the Abyss and has made a pact with the Somber Things that dwell within.

This is all I got and would like some input. I know some of this is shown to be cliched but i'm doing my best to balance that out by keeping some cliches while adding some originality. Also, if you are offended by some of this, I apologize and had no intention of doing such a thing.
