Hi.

Can someone help me with finding a word describing, in general, American's 'attatude' towards the body/illness, in a cultual sense.

I have two characters who are talking, and my humanoid bird-women (my teeenage bird-girl's mother) who is from Austria, is talking with my visualy impaired, human teenager who is volunteering at a Childrean's hospitle. My teenager, Willow, is expressing how she can't stand nurses to be mean to Phe (my bird-girl) and Phe's mother says that (just in conversation)"You American's are....about the body.... ect."

Hi there! I don't know if you still need help with this, but here I am. It would help if I knew what the character was trying to say in more general terms - how does she think Americans are about the body? I mean, I know you don't have the single word you're looking for (unless you do, because this post is from July), but can you describe it to me?
