I have to agree with @Rosendorn, although the way she explained it could be harsh for some people. I would say a unique story is nothing if it's not efficient. But yes, your idea is unique, @DrFeelGood, and you just have to execute it nicely. Why the third perspective though? Is it significant to the character?

To me unique is the finished product. It's the execution, the personalities of your characters, the quirks of your setting, the twists of your plot. Individually they are probably all easily found in other works. The combination creates the flavour of your story.
