Well, that was rather exciting. I thought my Xbox controller was making my bed vibrate. Parents were completely oblivious though  Who else felt it?

My sister is at boarding school in Market Rasen where the epicentre was, and when I heard about it on the news this morning I texted her to ask her what it was like, and she'd slept right through it!
Everywhere I go I'm asked if I think the university stifles writers. My opinion is that they don't stifle enough of them. There's many a bestseller that could have been prevented by a good teacher. ~Flannery O'Connor

I happened just as I'd logged off YWS for the night and gone to bed. Wasn't half terrifying -- my bed's pretty rickety anyway and it was shaking all over the place.

I was holding down all the huge piles of books on top of my bookshelf; saving them comes before self-preservation.

My Dad was the only other one who felt it, he was awake because he was too hot.

Both of my sisters, and most of my friends, slept through it.
please grant me my small wish; (love me to the marrow of my bones)

I slept through it as well. Then again, I also slept through my fire alarm...

No - one I know felt it so maybe it didn't affect us round here. I heard that it was felt from London to Newcastle.

And Wales, to Aberdeen apparently.

I'm in Birmingham and my friend woke up in it, but I have never been in an earthquake...

I didn't feel a thing, and I'm pretty sure I was awake at the time. Probably too far west, even if they do say Wales felt it. They always like to over-dramatise things. I reckon all those people who called in to say 'the doors rattled and I couldn't get back to sleep' from South Wales are liars.
There's always been a lot of tension between Lois and me, and it's not so much that I want to kill her, it's just, I want her to not be alive anymore.

Hehe...I have to say, they probably are. It mostly affected England, so if anyone over in Wales felt it they probably would have felt a tiny shudder. That made me laugh.

I don't think it reached Newcastle. I have friends in Redcar who came to college and were shocked to hear there was an earthquake, they hadn't felt anything at all. Not even the animals seemed to be bothered. Our bird didn't half go hay-wire.

Apparently people from the Isle of Wight have said they felt it now. Amazing how the impact of it seems to spread over the course of the day. They'll be calling in from the Shetland Isles next.

I was in the "Epicentre" I believe, as it was in North Lincolnshire.

Oh my gosh... I was actually really scared, so I thought that I dreamt it. I know I sound like I'm over re-acting, but I never thought that would really happen in England. How dissoloutioned am I? I woke up and everything in my room was shaking like crazy... But then in the morning, my Mum was like; "I didn't feel it."

I was like :O

A lot of people I talked to thought they were dreaming, so it doesn;t sound like your overreacting to me, Lizzy.

Lol, just read the local paper. Apparently lots of people here rang up the police to see if ICI had exploded XD

Oh my gosh

xD

Seriously, I get freaked out when we get flooded, but now we're getting stuff like mini tornadoes and earthquakes! It's actually quite a scary thought.
