Is it any good? I hear that it got a good rating and was thinking about buying it.

Buy it. There is no thought required.

I actually perfer Call of Duty 3 better. COD4 was just...well...it just didn't live up to my expectations.

No doubt about it, buy it. I have had it since Christmas and it is my favorite game of all time. Reasons why:

1. Graphics are awesome.
2. Playing online versus others if you have xbox live or ps3 online is great if you don't mind listening to people curse like sailors and maybe make fun of you from time to time. (Though I get made fun of a lot more cause I'm a girl who plays but when I own all the dudes they tend to shutup)
3. Lots of fun to find glitches in online maps.
4. Good story line.
5. Resembles the life of the Marines and other special forces quite well.

Those are the reasons I have found so far.

I'm not a fan of the online multiplayer. Simply too easy to die, in my opinion. I've played a bit of the campaign though and it looks pretty awesome, but I know it's short, so.
