In celebration of the YWS's third birthday, the legendary Monkey vs. Dragon fight has resurfaced!

To vote monkey, for our beloved gorilla Bartemius, go here!

I could also give a a brief explanation of this [s]fairly recent[/s] time old feud! But I'll shamelessly copy Kyle's explanation:
Capt. Smurf wrote:Several months ago (around late February, early March), Nate, our esteemed leader, suggested we decide upon an official mascot for the Young Writers Society. The decision was to be made democratically, and several mascots were suggested - the four with the largest followings ended up being Dragon, Monkey, Kangaroo and Pat Buchanan, with the Dragons in the lead by a significant margin.

Upon a second round of voting, the Dragons were still in the lead, though the Monkeys had closed up the gap considerably. The Kangaroos and Pat Buchanans were left trailing behind, and so out of the competition. The next couple of weeks saw fierce competition on both sides, and up until the bitter end both parties were neck and neck, and trying to convince the former Kangaroos to join them in the war effort. In the end, the Monkeys won, though by a tiny margin.
(By all means, read the original explanation here but still vote Bartemius.)

Let Bartemius be the one true representative of the YWS! Horace is too greedy to represent us. ;)

Let it be noted that this is for fun only, so please keep all discussions civil! Even if you are very against the Dragons! The mascot has already been decided. Nobody wants to sink the Great YWS Birthday Bash.

So, if you support Bartemius, let it show! Put him in your signature! The format is,
[color=green]
If you believe in Bartemius, put him in your siggy!: @(^_^)@ [/ color]

Remove the spaces in [/ color], and we're good to go.

Vote Bartemius the Wise, no Horace the Cunning!

Yeah... I must traumatize you with this song again!

It's basically Grif and me and Sgt. Salt singing (horribly) that monkey song in The Jungle Book. XD

Heheh... Go Monkeys! I mean, I used to be pro-dragon, and I still would be, but Barty's become like, an icon of YWS now! And I like the name way better than Horace.

(Also, in the chat room quiz show today, I owned the dragons so very badly. :D It was 13 to 2 at the end, and I scored at least 9 of those points. :wink:)
