Yesterday, September 17, 2007, was the first day that YWS had more than 500 unique visitors in one day (523 to be exact). It also broke the 1,000 visits mark for the second time. In fact, the number of visits has only been below 900 five times in all of September, and has never fallen below 850.

So what does this mean? Nothing really, but it's kinda cool :P

Haha, the only time it did fall was when we had the YWS outage over the summer.

Wow - yeah, that's cool! The big dip in June/July/whichever is a bit weird, but it's all good!

I like to think I contributed to a teeny percentage of YWS' growth - whatever keeps me happy!

The dip in June or July makes sense what with us being teenagers and having most of our exams then. But yeah, go YWS!

I just realized this after looking over some of the data, but activity on the site goes in steadily increasing waves week to week. That is, the peak of the wave always seems to be on a Wednesday, while the trough of the wave always seems to be on a Saturday. It begins increasing again on Sunday, and then next Wednesday's peak is almost always just a little higher than last Wednesday's peak.

That's something I did not know, and that data can actually be very useful. For instance, if I want to organize a chat room event, then the best day to do it on is on Wednesday, rather than on Saturdays or Sundays as I've done in the past.

A link to the data I'm talking about is at the end of this post. It's from August 19, 2007 to September 19, 2007, and shows unique visitors only. You can easily pick out all the Saturdays, and from that you can see the waves in activity that I'm talking about:
