Anybody else see Stardust? Anyone else see it and hate it? The only thing that kept me from throwing up was that Charlie Cox is really cute. Claire Danes was good as the star...but come on "I think I love you!" ?!?!?!?! And did no one get the memo that Victoria was supposed to be a brunette?!?!?! Apparently Neil Gaiman actually went over everything with the people who made this movie. I wonder if he was completely sober...

As long as no one even considers making American Gods into a movie, I think I'll live.

Anyway, the other movies I've seen recently (Hairspray and The Simpsons Movie) were really good. Two thumbs up on both.

I saw Stardust and LOVED it. I agree about the "I think I love you" line being kind of cheesy, but it was still kind of cute. The only thing I don't get is why Tristan's mother is still very young 18 years later but his father aged drastically. My guess is that it has something to do with his father being pure human and his mother being from...beyond the Wall. Either that or it was just a director goof up.

I saw Becoming Jane. I'm sure many people would find it boring, but I enjoyed it!

Over the last month or two i've seen-

Pirates 3 - I thought was rather good, and the CG effects were pretty spectacular, but the plot was pretty confuzing!

Surf's up - Loved that movie! Made me laugh

Simpsons Movie - One of my favourite movies! Some great laughs in it too.

I'd like to go see Knocked up and stardust =]

A couple of weeks ago I saw the Bourne Ultimatum. It was okay, not really an action movie, more of a giant cell phone ad. It seemed like every other scene was them talking on a cell phone, or buying a cell phone, or hacking into a cell phone. But, regardless of the commercialism, it was a overrall good movie.

Let's See...

Movies I've seen recently:

American Gangster: okay, unless you've got a weak stomach, strict parents, or just something that keeps you from an R-rating(or maybe all three), go see this movie. It's probably the best I'll see this fall.

Nightmare in 3-D: it's always good to see Burton's wonder and hear Elfman's masterpiece for nostalgia's sake, and it's even better to do it with 3-D shades.

Mr. Woodcock: just don't watch this thing, seriously.

Movies: I want to see:

Bella

Gone Baby Gone

Movies I saw this summer(a lot, since my sister and I made a certain bet this year):

Harry Potter 5: not bad, in fact, better than half the series.

Bourne Ultimatum: after my dad turned me onto this series, I became hooked, and this was just the cherry on top. Possibly the best of all three. Though Greengrass's camera work is beyond shaky, I admire his skill (watch United 93 for one of his works).

Ocean's 13: though it's superbly ridiculous (and gets so with every passing movie), it's hard to say no to so many promising stars in one picture. Hey, it could have been worse (should have been, it was a sequel).

Shrek 3: watched it once, and only once. I'll just pretend this version doesn't even exist.

No Reservations: it's only fine, nothing I'd see again, but I wasn't biting my sweater as I watched. Aaron Eckhart is much better in Thank You For Smoking (made for that role, now that I think about it)

Evan Almighty: I admire Carell's bravery here. It was just not funny to me.

Fantastic Four 2:the silver surfer was awesome! this movie was actually better than its predecessor.

Surf's Up: I'm surprised critics weren't fans of this that much, or that it didn't make a lot of money at the BO. It was funny and well-made. I love Shia LaBeouf, ever since he started out as Louis Stevens.

Stardust: I only watched this because my sister wanted to see it. It could have been worse, it was better than I thought it would be, but I won't be rushing to buy it.

Becoming Jane: it was very familiar to the movies based on her books (all of which I've mostly enjoyed, the most recent being Pride and Prejudice), but it's still interesting to see one of the versions of the life of one of my favorite authors.

Pirates 3: for the most part, I got my money's worth, but at the big CGI-infested ending I simply dozed off.

Spiderman 3: not a bad piece of movie to see, though it's missing something that Spiderman 2 had.

Meet the Robinsons: I liked this much better than Chicken Little, but not as much as Disney/Pixar's other creations.

Wild Hogs: I'd rather not say much about this one, and I'd rather see John Travolta in Grease, where he looks seventy years younger.

I saw 30 Days of Night and Martian Child recently. 30 days was kind of gross, but still pretty good. Though I wouldn't pay to see it again. Martian Child was pretty good, but not my favorite movie ever.

Evan Almighty is an amazing movie.

I saw Stardust. I liked it - funny, with a nice, happy ending. Great film to lift a mood.
There's always been a lot of tension between Lois and me, and it's not so much that I want to kill her, it's just, I want her to not be alive anymore.

I watched Saw IV at the theater last Friday...It was good. Most people don't realize that it isn't about the gore, it's the plot, the psychology of it... It's really an amazing story. The gore is just... Humans are weird. XD We like to push our limits, and we like watching other people in pain.

I accidentally saw "The Great Debaters". I didn't keel over right there in the theatre or anything, but it wasn't exactly fantastic. It was a message movie, for a start, and produced by Oprah, no less, so of course it was pretentious and predictable. What really bugged me was that the protagonists (the students on the debate team of a small black school) never had to argue the "wrong" side of an issues. Their opponents got stuck with "welfare is stupid", "say no to integration", and "civil disobedience is wrong". The movie took the easy out and assumed that the people necessarily believed what they were saying. God, people, you had a LYNCH MOB. You don't NEED an easy villain. It was pathetic.

Amazing. Wes Anderson is a genius. It's just such a beautifully made film. No other film in recent memory has managed to be so moving and so funny at the same time. Exceptional performances, a wonderful soundtrack - best film of 2007.
Anyone else seen it?

The last film I saw at the cinema was "Superbad", and it was great. My friend and I were squealling at the end.

I just recently saw "I Am Legend." I thought it did a good job of competing with "Omega Man"
