I HATE GOOGLE

For three months (3 months!) I have been waiting for YWS to be listed on Google, which was very annoying since the stupid Google bot was on the board 24/7 and eating up tons of bandwidth..........

And now, guess what? After not even a week at this temporary site, YWS is already listed! No, not the www.youngwriterssociety.com address, but the stupid www.nathancaldwell.net/young_writers/forum address...

MSN Search has YWS listed really well (we show up on the second page if you search for "young writers"), and Yahoo has us listed, although not very well. Yet Google, in its supreme majestic glory, does not have YWS at all save for this stupid, idiotic site address that we're at now!

Now, I love Google, but right now, I hate Google. Of course, it doesn't help that I sent a none too nice e-mail concerning their google bot eating up all my bandwidth...

:x :x :x :x :x

Eh, I can see why you're frusterated/angry. It's surprising that Google doesn't have this site listed, let alone be difficult to cooperate with, seeing as they're the be-all and end-all of search engines.
i thought you were shallow, but then i fell in deep.

There's just something cleaner, more friendly, with having the regular url instead of a subfolder. I know how it feels, man. When I was running an old site, I had it on Tripod and the forums on proboards. They were both listed. Then I moved to a real url, and it was pretty much NEVER listed. And the proboards site was first even after I deleted it. Gr...

Apple computers bought Tivo this year, probably for the same reasons google would have.
E paper is getting cheaper.

This is not at all that unlikely.

To see if a site is listed, you just need to do "site:www.sitename.com" and it'll give you all the listings that the search engine has of the site. Doing this for MSN and Yahoo yields about 400 pages. Google yields zero :(

That was a really cool video. I don't see news organizations going away though; they'll figure out some way to stay on.

The part about Google v. Microsoft though will come to pass; it's happening already. It'll be interesting to see what develops.

What I hate is all these Google bits popping up on your site. The Google ads. I do not like Google, I like Dogpile. Growl. And even if I do like Dogpile more, I don't want the search bars and ads on this site. Growllling...
I'm not even angry... I'm being so sincere right now.

I got rid of the google search bar on the dark templates since it didn't show up right. In regards to the rest of the site, I got rid of the google ads when you're viewing topics so that now they're only on two pages within the site. I'm still experiencing with layouts though so that one, people see them, and two, people aren't annoyed by them. I might end up getting rid of them, but they're covering the hosting fees for the website.

YAY! I bet your everyone's going to switch to the Dark Template now. Although it does come in handy sometimes, it was very annoying.
