Today, it was simple: it's sunny! With a couple exceptions, the past month in the Washington, DC area has been nothing but rain, clouds, high temperatures, and high humidity.
Today, it's sunny and the ground is dry. It's still a bit hotter than I would like, but seeing as how we'll be dealing with early sunsets and cold temperatures again very soon, I'll gladly take it.
One of my favorite theologians was in town for a free lecture - I thought I'd try to skim through his new book before I went - but it was surprisingly already checked out from the library.
I go the lecture, sit by a lady I had met before and we chat a bit. After the lecture she asks if I had been able to read his new book yet - I say no and explain that it was checked out from the library so I hadn't had a chance - she then reaches in her bag and gives me a brand-new copy saying she had bought three since they were on sale!
So - I ended up getting a free book and getting it signed! Super good day.
you should know i am a time traveler & there is no season as achingly temporary as now
I was dealing with a complaint at work and I've managed to resolve it. I've spoken to the customer on the phone and she said "You have just made my day, thank you!" It's always nice to get that result at the end of a complaint.
