@alliyah FREDRICK BACKMAN OH MAN I started with My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry and then impulse-bought Britt-Marie Was Here and A Man Called Ove at Barnes & Noble the other day because that first book was so good.

This looks like a fun little activity! I'd like to make my own contribution to it, though I'm pleasantly surprised to see that the country I had in mind wasn't taken already! My recommendation is Radio Silence by Alice Oseman for the United Kingdom. It's a really good book that focuses on the pressures of school, and I found myself relating to it despite the American education experience being a little different from the English one. The book is set in the UK, and the author is from there. So two for one, I guess!

I was thinking of adding Junot Diaz also @Lauren2010 xD I was super surprised he was already listed!

Well, instead I've added - China. There is A LOT of great literature here, but I'm going to put down The Three Body Problem by Liu Cixin which we're going to see a TV adaptation on Amazon Prime TV at some point :> Can't wait!

And also the classic One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez which is also great.

Technically this one could fall under Belarus or Russia, since the author is Belarusian but the book focuses on women who fought for the then-Soviet Union in World War Two and are mostly from Russia. I've put it under Belarus because it's probably going to be more difficult to find books from there than from Russia.
