@saentiel, perhaps in that case you can pick a year in which you finished some other level of education :) I know these are different in different countries, so whichever works best for you!

Claiming my spot and hoping I'll remember to fill this in more frequently than I have this year. Or perhaps I'll even *actually* look at the list first and choose books that will fit it, rather than reading books and then going "oh crap" and trying to make the books I've read fit into the list somehow.

08/13 - 23 books read, 22 fit onto the list

Spoiler! :
1. A book made into a movie you've already seen: Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe
2. True crime: Death at Victoria Dock
3. The next book in a series you started: Searching for Dragons
4. A book involving a heist:
5. Nordic noir:
6. A novel based on a real person:
7. A book set in a country that fascinates you:
8. A book with a time of day in the title:
9. A book about a villain or antihero: The Castle of Otranto
10. A book about death or grief: [i]My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry

11. A book with a female author who uses a male pseudonym: The Tenant of Wildfell Hall
12. A book with an LGBTQ+ protagonist: Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda
13. A book that is also a stage play or a musical: Emma
14. A book by an author of different ethnicity than you: Their Eyes Were Watching God
15. A book about feminism:
16. A book about mental health:
17. A book you borrowed or that was given to you as a gift: The Man Who Ate Everything
18. A book by two authors: Good Omens
19. A book about or involving a sport: Britt-Marie Was Here
20. A book by a local author:
21. A book with your favourite colour in the title:
22. A book with alliteration in the title: Pride and Prejudice
23. A book about time travel:
24. A book with a weather element in the title:
25. A book set at sea:
26. A book with an animal in the title: Talking to Dragons
27. A book set on a different planet:
28. A book with song lyrics in the title:
29. A book about or set on Halloween:
30. A book with characters who are twins: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
31. A book mentioned in another book: Palimpsest*
32. A book from a celebrity book club: A Man Called Ove
33. A childhood classic you’ve never read:
34. A book that’s published in 2018: Kill the Farm Boy
35. A past Goodreads Choice Awards winner:

37. A book you meant to read in 2017 but didn’t get to:
38. A book with an ugly cover:
39. A book that involves a bookstore or library:
40. Your favorite prompt from the 2015, 2016, or 2017 POPSUGAR Reading Challenges: Northanger Abbey (2016 - a book at least 100 years older than you)

Advanced

41. A bestseller from the year you graduated high school:

Calling on Dragons

*I cheated on this one slightly. Palimpsest actually mentions another book - The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making, which I adore, but if I read that book to complete this particular challenge, I'd go down the rabbit hole of "well I might as well read the whole series" and then I'd have to twist like five or six books around to make them fit within the challenge.

Plus I've read that book like a zillion times, but I had never read Palimpsest before.

@Demeter I just read more closely and noticed numbers 47 and 20. I am very paranoid on the internet and I was wondering if 47 could apply to pen names as well and if 20 could be in the same country instead of city/town.
