Not sure if anyone will be interested in this, but who knows? It may at least be of passing interest!

This weekend, YWS will be having a Review Day. These started way back in 2006 as "Crazy Review Weekend," and I've lost track of how many we've done. At some point (2010?) the 'Review Weekends' became just 'Review Days,' and we started doing them on a monthly basis.

The idea for Review Teams came from @Rosendorn, and we tried them out for the first time in May 2011. But instead of Review Teams for just Review Day, we did them for the entire month. They were:
  • Team Toxic Nudibranch
  • CSI YWS [AKA Team Octave]
  • Power Rangers: YWS Force (Team Pink)
  • Team Bamboozle

That came down to a tight race between Power Rangers and Bamboozle with less than 250 points separating the two despite the competition lasting an entire month!

But, having the Review Teams an entire month led to some burnout. They started really, really strong, but petered out with the two main teams then having a strong burst at the end. On balance, I think it did work really well. But, it's something you do only rarely!

In June 2011, we switched to the way things are currently done. On the last Sunday of every month, we have a Review Day with optional review teams. Including the one in May 2011 and the one this weekend, we've now done 47 total! Of course, if you were to count all the Review Days and Review Weekends we've ever done... I'm sure it would at least be in the 60s.

Even though we didn't win, Team Toxic Nudibranch had the best mascot, if I do say so myself.

No way, the power rangers were totally the coolest! That was one of the few years I've actually changed my avatar for review day :D

You walk into this room at your own risk, because it leads to the future, not a future that will be but one that might be. This is not a new world, it is simply an extension of what began in the old one. It has patterned itself after every dictator who has ever planted the ripping imprint of a boot on the pages of history since the beginning of time. It has refinements, technological advances, and a more sophisticated approach to the destruction of human freedom. But like every one of the super states that preceded it, it has one iron rule: logic is an enemy and truth is a menace.
