It has long been a dream of The Young Writers Society to run their own publishing house, fully funded by revenue from the site and a small commission fee. This is now a reality and I am proud and pleased to inform you that we will start to accept submissions of novels from the 29/02/2017. We will be prioritising members of YWS who’ve been with us for three months or more.

The publishing house is situated on Mars and looks remarkably like our headquarters located there. This may create some difficulties for those wishing to visit us but the moderators are experimenting with space travel and we are certain that we will have a shuttle ready for the launch.

I hope you’re as excited by this news as I am!

You had me right up until the Mars part. Or is the publishing house in partnership with Pigfarts?
I bought a cactus. A week later it died. I got depressed because I thought Damn, I am less nurturing than a desert.

But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
So you're going to kill a god. Sure. But what happens next?

Diary of a Deicide, Part One.

Got YWS?

I would have vouched for a place with more of a blue tinge, but I guess, if anything, the YWS blue and the Mars rusty red can help us promote Mr. Buchanan's American election in a more patriotic fashion. And regardless of color coordination, at least the red planet is hospitable. There's no use to a publishing house if it's infested with toxic air and burning chemicals.

I'm so excited! <3333

Wonderful! In the amount of time it would take for you to board a space shuttle and fly to Mars, you could write and complete a novel. Oh, and the trip back would take long enough that, if the published novel were to be sent back by radio waves, converted into books, and distributed across the world, you could be wealthy by the time you return! It's a perfectly ingenious system, isn't it? :D

questa fiamma staria senza piu scosse.
Ma per ciò che giammai di questo fondo
non tornò vivo alcun, s'i' odo il vero,
senza tema d'infamia ti rispondo.

Inferno, Canto 27, l 61-66.

But @TheSilverFox does that allow for editing and processing time? What about marketing preparations and cover design? I know YWS has a vast array of talented artists, but the process of creating a truly marketable cover for a novel is difficult, and not everyone is up to the task, so we might have to outsource...

All in all, a flight to Mars and back might do it! Then you could be rich enough by the time we have more advanced interplanetary communications that you wouldn't even have to make the second trip for your next manuscript, you'd just do it to show off that you have that much free time.

I've always wanted my work to be Martian literature! Perhaps we can extend to Jupiter or something, then have a long line of publishing houses across the galaxy!

Question: what colour is the publishing house?

This is very relevant.

Clearly YWS has made some astounding accomplishments, seeing that we'll be the first people on Mars, and that YWS will have published the first book on Mars.

Good job Nate!

Apparently I have good timing! I assume the Kickstarter was a complete success? Sorry I didn't donate, I don't regularly carry Mars currency. Just a suggestion though, I think the 3 month threshold should be extended to a minimum of 3 years and 300 reviews. Make the young'uns work hard for the chance of glory.

At first, I was like, "YAY." Then, I was like, "WAIT. WHAT." Then I despaired. The YWS toilet is bad enough in its current quarters... how is that even supposed to work out at Mars?
