Might I ask how these are determined?

For example, if a work is posted at the end of the previous month, but only gains enough likes to be in one of the top 10s during the next month, is it not eligible at all? Or are only the likes accumulated in that month counted, so it's possible that it wouldn't make it because it's only counting half of the likes?
We're all stories in the end.

I think of you as a fairy with a green dress and a flower crown and stuff.

I think you, @Deanie and I are like the Three Book Nerd Musketeers of YWS.

@Meandbooks (and anyone else with a similar question!) ->> The monthly Literary Spotlight counts only likes recorded in the given month. So a work posted in July 2007 can show up in the December 2015 Literary Spotlight if it received enough likes that month (it's happened before, and there are even a few works that seem to pop up at least once a year).

A work that receives 5 likes on December 31, 2015 and 5 likes on January 1, 2016, could be excluded from the monthly spotlight for both months even though it would have more total than some works included in the spotlight, but there's really no good way around that.
