Ground Rules

Please send all answers to Rydia and Meshugenah in a PM by Sunday 15th - do not post on this thread!

1. Absolutely no bumping of topics that may be relevant. If such a topic is found, the posts will be deleted, and the bumper disqualified.
2. You may beg, borrow, or steal, but you may not bully, bribe, or otherwise harass anyone into helping you complete this.
3. You may use any means necessary available to you, but may not do anything illegal - i.e. try to hack into the super duper secret no one knows about it mod castle secret base where we keep all the good chocolate (hint: it’s definitely not on Mars, nor has it ever been).

The prize is bragging rights for knowing YWS better than anyone else and a certificate to that effect. The certificate will be rewarded at the end of the week. Or when its been made because we totally don’t have one yet.

Easy (all worth 1 point)

If you’ve been with us a few months then you probably know some of these and even if you’ve just joined, they’re not buried too deep!

1. who are the newest additions to the moderating staff?
2. List one person who was a featured member in October.
3. On what exact date was YWS officially created?
4. How many reviews do I need to do to earn my first review star?
5. Who designed the current pencil and sword logo?
6. What is the Green Room?
7. To the nearest thousand how many members does YWS have?
8. Who is 11th in the All Time review rankings?
9. How many reviews were made in September 2015?
10. What is the name of the area of the site where the NaNoWriMo forums are found?

General Knowledge (all worth 2 points)
Somewhere in the back of your head is the answer to at least one of these questions but don’t pull your brain out trying to find it - search YWS instead.

1. What is Nate's middle name?
2. What poem title was the first to start trending a few months back?
3. In which years were the YWS Literary Journals all published?
4. Who was the original YWS Princess?
5. Who are the two legendary warring cliques on YWS?
6. What is the name of the current version of the site?
7. How do you make invisible text on YWS?
8. What are you likely to get in return if you give a YWS’er some food?
9. How many points does it cost to give a gift?
10. What were the three animals involved in the Mascot wars?

Check the Archives (all worth 3 points)
These are getting harder and if you can answer any without looking it up, you deserve some free candy but we don’t have free candy so have a pat on the back instead!

1. During which review day were Dory and Inc[red]ibles the team names and which team won?
2. What is NLA and what does it stand for?
3. On what date did Firefox first become a more used browser than Internet Explorer on YWS?
4. Where on YWS are you likely to find a dancing baby?
5. What was the YWS robot's favourite topic of conversation and what did his name stand for?
6. What was the training area called before you reached the capital Sanctum in the YWS game Sanctum?
7. November 2004 was the first time the site ever existed but on a slightly darker note what also happened for the first time that month for 2 days?
8. How many points would someone have if they answered all the questions on this scavenger hunt correctly?
9. Who is the only entity to have had a chat room named after them on YWS?
10. Before Storybooks was its own tab, what was the name of the section it was listed under, along with the lyrics and art & photography forums?

Fiendish and a little bit crazy (all worth 4 points)
Some of these questions are so challenging you may not be able to find the answers on YWS.

1. How many questions have we re-purposed from old scavenger hunts? List the numbers of at least 3 so we know you’re not just guessing! (for example, easy section question 2 and fiendish section question 4)
2. Name two members, other than Nate, who were moderators in 2004.
3. Before the badges system was revamped, there were just five badges which were awarded by moderators. What colour was the 1001 posts badge?
4. What was the name of YWS’ sister site which was due to open October 1st 2005 but didn’t open until October 16th?
5. What are the names of the four moderating crews and which houses would they be (according to Rydia’s logic) if YWS were Hogwarts?
6. Who wrote this question? Minus two points if you get it wrong. Only kidding… or am I? Would I, the unknown questioner, truly be that awful?
7. When did Rydia and Meshugenah each become an admin?
8. What other YWSers live or have lived in the same state as Meshugenah (name four)?
9. In regard to the hit TV show Supernatural, which of the brothers do Rydia and Meshugenah favour?
10. If Nate’s member number is 1 then what are Meshugenah and Rydia’s?

11. What’s special about this question?

Best of luck to all of you!

We'll leave this open a few more days mostly because attempts to answer this make me giggle and then we'll publish how many points our entrants have. Not many have entered so far - you still have a chance to prove you know YWS best!

And the results are in! We'll still accept late entries as a few of you have said they're on the way but no asking our top scorers for answers!

As an added bonus, everyone who got their answers to us in time can choose up to 5 questions they think they got wrong and if you pm Bekah and myself, we'll give you the correct answers for those/ tell you you were right!

Late comers can have 1 answer :p

Well you got the most answers right but I don't see anyone with 104/ 104 so I'd say that's a win for @Meshugenah and I :p

xD You'll get your certificate, silly @Iggy. It just may take me a little longer to make it! But in the meantime let me know what name you'd like on it? You can send me a pm if you'd prefer!
