Alright, as I promised, @Lumi. kill me now

I'm reading mountaintops from my napo thread so enjoy.

click here to listen to my voice

You have no idea how hard it was just to convince myself to record this. Plus, multiple interruptions. Ugh. *runs away to hide*

EDIT: Also @StellaThomas your voice is love.

My phone's voice recorder is pretty terrible, just warning you now. In any which case, I saw this and thought it'd be fun to join in! Here's a reading of my two most current poems:

of epitaphs and wilder suns

and

consider for a moment

[EDIT] I should also note that my Canadian accent tried to come out in the beginning of both poems and it sounds really dorky omg.
Suppose for a moment that the heart has two heads, that the heart has been chained and dunked in a glass booth filled with river water. The heart is monologuing about hesitation and fulfillment while behind the red brocade the heart is drowning. - R.S

Sorry in advance for background noise or anything like that. I'm reading a poem I just made, and have not published yet. Sneak peek! xD

Thank you. :) It was for the 2015 All City Poetry Slam. In the preliminary bouts, my team won first place twice and second place in the Grand Slam Finals which was Saturday.

I've really become obsessed with slam poetry in the past two years. This year, my team made it to finals which was nice.

Keep looking back here – I'll be posting a few spoken word pieces soon.

In the mean time, I urge you all to listen to this and this. This guy is awesome and some sort of nationwide champion or something and a great friend of mine. Have fun with it!

@Lavvie
@bluewaterlily

Ah then you are both well versed in public and private reading.....cool.

I wish to learn but have nobody to practice on.

@Zolen, I found practicing alone worked best for myself, in front of the mirror. If you have commitment, you'll do it and you'll do it well. I have every faith in you... as long as you have faith in yourself ;)

@Lavvie to quote what I just posted on my wall the reason why I really have failed with mirrors.

The problem is that in my head I have the most amazing voice in amazing town. Deep and elegant, wild and eager, and high pitched and manic, at random times, sometimes all at the same time.

Then when I hear my recording I hear a voice far different from my own, clearly the voice of some other person who just as I pushed play had replaced my recording with their own, as if to trick me.

In other words, I really don't know what I sound like until I replay my voice through a recording medium, and the difference is so vast at the moment I can't be properly critical of myself.

So minds to bounce my voice at would be useful. However I have none.

So any thoughts from anyone else is nice.

Okay I bit the bullet and did one of my NaPo's for this year so I could join Scar in the Aussie accent corner.
