Ok - so I’m pretty astounded that some find reading boring. It blows my mind. This includes someone very close to me who doesn’t understand how I can laugh out loud, cry tears of joy or literally sob with despair at some words written on a piece of paper.

Whether its happiness, sadness, anger, frustration or just pure mirth.

Which book has made you feel the most?

I have many but off the top of my head - The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

Ah, Divergent made me mad. The Fault in Our Stars made me almost cry, and almost caused me to swear in a text to my friend about how if that wasn't true love, then something, something, something >.> ( doesn't normally use strong language ).

Also there's a lot that have made me disappointed. :-P But that's a bit different, I think.

The Legend trilogy by Marie Lu. Ah... The feels! The last forty or so pages were read through blurred vision. :) I know, I'm obsessed with it. I mention it on like, every board I'm on.

Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein. It made me laugh and cry and I still get emotional just looking at the cover.

Also, I don't think any book has made me bawl my eyes out as much as The Book Thief.

There's also The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater. It didn't make me cry, but at one stage I actually felt physically nervous for the characters, I was that invested in their story. It's also one of the most visually stunning books in terms of vivid imagery that I've read. The Raven Cycle books (also by Maggie Stiefvater) have lead to some pretty intense emotions for me.

Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock by Mathew Quick and Dr. Bird's Advice for Sad Poets by Evan Roskos and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon.
These books are all kind of similar in tone (at least to me) and they register as similar in my mind, and they all made me feel in the same way, which was a more poignant way than I feel most of the time.

This may be a little strange, but I don't think I've ever really felt much when reading a book. At least not too much. The Sea Wolf by Jack London, made me madder than hen, because of what one of the characters was like, but that's about it. xD I don't know why that is the case, but it is.

@TriSARAHtops I've heard so much about the Book Thief! I already have plans to check it out at the local library. :)

The reason why The Book Thief made me cry is because how dumb the ending was and how the author pushed the sentimental values so far down my throat I couldn't breathe.

I could name several books that have destroyed me quite pleasurably:

The Book Thief, The Little Prince, pieces of the Harry Potter series, pieces of the Artemis Fowl series, The Tiger's Wife, A Fine Balance, and The Fault in Our Stars,

but most recently was Cloud Atlas. That's kind of a weird choice because it's sort of literary crossed with sci-fi, historical fiction, and realistic fiction, which is definitely not for everyone, but. Omg. Because

1) the first part ends mid-sentence, just when I was really getting into it, which was like NOOOOOOOOO but THEN
2) I totally fell in love with the MC of the second part but then his chapter ended, which was like NOOOOOOOOO and THEN
3) something about him is just casually mentioned in the next chapter, which was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, so then
4) when I got back to his next chapter toward the end, I actually had to put the book down and walk away from it for a minute before starting the chapter and THEN
5) horrible, devastating things happened, and I had to reread the book like a month later and I could honestly go read it again right this minute even though I know it'll kill me.

So. Cloud Atlas.

I'm going to mention a couple of favorites.

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer, and Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes.

Both very emotional books.
