Hi. I'm Ben Franks, that's right: You haven't heard of me. But don't worry, I won't judge you, it would've been a little creepy if you had.

I've been on YWS since 4th January 2010, which in all fairness probably puts me under the class of "newbie-YWS-addicts" since I've already got 600 + posts and a collection of reviews fit for someone who's been on YWS for well over 6 months. Anyway, enough implied boasting. Since you're still reading this it means you want to know about me. Well, that's quite incredible.

Firstly, I'm what most people might call a "wanna-be columnist", which in a nutshell basically means I'm good at writing about things I know nothing about in funny ways. Although my brand of humour generally appears a little dry. (If this is boring you, go into you're bathroom and try and drink water upside down whilst cleaning your teeth, it's a tooth-buster).

Film wise I'm in love with 007. Not in a gay way, but in the way that advertises the fact I have all the movies on DVD in a shiny metal box marked "007". Call me what you like, but I've seen worse. :) I also love any kind of comedy. Infact, just for you I've prepped some top fives.

Top five... films:
1_ 007 series, naturally.
2_ Love actually, best ever romantic comedy. And it's British.
3_ Rat Race, literally the funniest film in the world.
4_ Keeping Mum, a little bit of Grace. This is a black comedy and a half.
5_ Valkyrie, simply because I do. And Bill Nigh is in it.

Top five... books:
1_ The World According to Clarkson, my childhood hero, and I still love him. Despite him being a complete (chat innapropriate word).
2_ Mock the Week Year Book, there is nothing funnier thats been printed.
3_ Thanks for nothing, Jack Dee. This man's a king. 'nough said.
4_ Andy McNab's Boy Soldier series - first books I couldn't put down.
5_ By Royal Command - Charlie Higson. A young Bond book, with an author that writes 4 times better than Ian Fleming.

Top five... Comedians:
1_Peter Kay, legend to the bone.
2_ Frankie Boyle, love him to bits.
3_ Jack Dee, a true king.
4_ Reginald D. Hunter, he always makes me LOL on Have I got News for You.
5_ Michael McIntyre.

Now that's out of the way, perhaps you'd like to know about my writing? Okay then, since you're begging. Here we are:

I write columns constantly, more than once a day. It's a way of letting out rants, anger and humour for the beauty and benefit of people sad enough to read national newspapers.

I write historical fiction because i love history. Michael Caine is a hero of history by the way. Look him up.

I write other fiction, some minor amounts of poetry if its almost the apocalypse and now and again you might catch me writing the tincy bit of script. But that just isn't my tea bag. I prefer PG Tips.

Anyway, enough about me. Unless you're some kind of person who's particularly interested in a fellow like myself, in which case, please post some adorably crafted questions and I'll answer them by 2065.

Much love,
~Ben

I have all of those books! They aren't amazing, but yeah. :D

Peter Kay, legend to the bone.

'you'll be singing it over and over and over again ... '

Reginald D. Hunter, he always makes me LOL on Have I got News for You.

Man, he's such a legend.

Michael McIntyre.

I am going to meet him! He visits my village! I'm planning to possibly stalk him. *coughs*

Haha, as long as you don't get caught stalkin' him! XD

I'm jealous of you now :) *huffs*.

I've only ever seen Russel Howard & Andy Parsons live. They were both great <3

I've never actually seen anyone live. Russel Howard would be amazing. I loathe Andy Parsons, though. XD

I know what you mean, I didn't really like Andy Parsons on Mock The Week, but he was excellent live. Might just be the atmosphere I don't know. But live giggs are always the best kinds of comedy. I'd recommend them to anyone.

I agree with that! Have you heard of Dane Cook?

Absolute genius this man! He's the funniest person in the world to me, you have to look him up! (He swears a LOT but that just makes him funnier ^_^ )

007 Roger Moore is the bestest Bond ever!
I love Valkyrie, the most amazing WW2 movie ever!

Now, I have one epic question:
What is your candy of choice? :D
Star light; star bright,
It is time to take flight.
Off I go through the dark of night.
All my hopes and dreams in sight.

Dude you must marry me right now.
And I totally have you beat on this, I have all my Bond movies (unfortunately I don't own all of them) and books, in a cardboard Quantum of Solace DVD display thing. One of these days I'll have to put up a picture, it's too awesome xD.

Yeah. It was quite cool, actually. It seemed to involve a lot of guys dressed as Bond girls. And a lot of Martinis. xD
