Umm, hi! I'm new here. The name's Alyssa. I'm fifteen. I've been writing for years, probably close to six or seven years. I write mainly poetry, mainly freeverse. I do occaisionally dabble in short stories and prose. I also play alto, tenor, and bari sax, and I'm involved in theatre and can often be found singing, acting, and dancing. So that's basically me. I'm really looking forward to reading some great writing and sharing some of my own writing!
Hey Alyssa!
Nice to meet you!
Since I'm the first to greet you, there are some things I have to point out:
- In YWS, we have 2:1 ratio rule, where for every 1 piece of work you post, it can be a story, poem, script, art etc..., you'll have to give at least 2 reviews in return, you can review any of the works, like story/poem etc.., as long as it's not done by you.
You don't have to do it before you post your work, or right after you post, but it would be best that you get it done soon, or people wouldn't want to review your work. Quid pro quo. You help us, we help you.
Also, take note of the following colours that you see for our usernames,
The normal colour is grey, but there are special colours (For example, I'm blue!)
Orange - Distinguished Members, I guess you can tell what it means by the name.
Red - Administrators, the people you keep our site going. The most important one to note is "Nate", he's the one who built this site. We call him our 'God' sometimes
Dark Green - Moderators, the keep the forums up and running, if you've got any problems, just be polite and go bug one of them and they'll help you where they can.
Light Green - The junior Mods! They're like the mini versions of Mods, but you can also ask them for help.
Purple - The Instructors. If you want a review, go ask them nicely and they'll help you with that They basically help your with your work, from posting it to reviewing it.
Blue - The Greeters, we help make the new people feel welcome in our community!
Most questions you have can be answered in our help forums so feel free to look around in there.
Anyway, I see you're specialising in the Arts.
Writing, singing, dancing and acting. Oh, and you play the saxophone!
I absolutely love playing the piano,
I love writing, (Of course),
I don't mind singing but I'd rather not scare everyone away,
I love acting, but I'm way too shy,
And I hate dancing
Sounds like we have stuff in common!
I don't really do poetry though.
So, what kind of genre do you like to read and write about?

I see you've already made your 2 reviews, which is fast. I need help getting my review count up, so don't hesitate to ask me if you need one. My new year resolution is to critique all the works I open.
There's one more thing that Meep didn't say, but if you read the rules, you might know that chatspeak like 'u' for 'you', '2' for 'to', and multiple exclamation marks aren't allowed. 1337 is also included.
You're involved in theatre? You like singing, dancing, and – gasp – acting? Wowies! So do I! I also play the piano, though sax is a super cool instrument. I see have quite a lot in common! And I do poetry, too.
Anyways. Welcome again! And please PM me anytime you need a review or have questions or anything!
See you,
Demeter
