I sometimes use a pen-name, Nyssa Lovelace, on websites, when I think about internet security. Here, I will use this pen-name. Disregarding internet security for a second, I will say that I am 17. But there are plenty 17 year-olds in the world, so I'm not too worried.
I've always been interested in creative pursuits. As a child, I wrote stories (however, I can't remember any of those stories), lyrics (remember those, sadly), rhyming poems, and had my brother and cousin play "pretend" with me. My friends at school also suffered the same fate.
I also dabbled in cross-stitch as a child, learning from my granny, but quickly lost interest. To make up for that (because I think my granny would like it if I learned something to do with yarn and needles), I recently picked up crochet.
I'm a very shy person, honestly. I don't normally initiate conversation first, which I know I need to work on (especially now that I'm heading off to college).
Although several people have told me over the years that I write very well, I feel that the lack of critique is not helping me improve at all. There is always room for improvement, right?
So, I'm looking forward to posting some of my pieces, meeting fellow writers, and reading the writings of others.
