I smile back at her and bring myself deeper.

Rayah

I swallow, "That...your not a demigod are you, Jace? Your not related to Nic, are you?"

Jackie

I smile and follow him.

Jace

I swallow and try to find words, sure my voice would waver, "I-I don't know. I-I don't think... I know I'm a demigod. Hermes wouldn't have been wrong about that. I... I don't know about the last part though. We're half-brothers. Always have been, but I don't know anymore."

I turn around and face her, continuing to swim backwards.

Rayah

I nod, "And?"

Jackie

I swim up to get air and take a deep breath.

Jace

I hesitate, thinking, "I don't... I'm not sure. Everything is clouded right now, Rayah. I can't... I don't understand it."

I make to head for the surface as well, my lungs burning slightly, when a hand clamps over my mouth and I'm pulled further down despite my struggles. Just as my eyes begin to close, something touches the base of my neck and I can breathe. I gasp and try to break free from whatever's got me, only to have the scene shift completely.

Sh*t. Jackie, get to shore. Please. I'll be back in a minute or two... hopefully.

Rayah

I sigh and get home, not saying anything more.

Jackie

I take a deep breath and head for shore, exausted.

Jace

I swallow and follow her, feeling helpless and lost in words.

I blink a few times and glance around, finding myself in a cavern similar to Jace's but different when it came to the back. Strange markings line the wall and seem to glow. Yeah... I'm screwed. Where the hell am I?

Rayah

Ella crawls from behind the couch and studies me before wrapping her arms around my legs.

I keep waiting and sigh, yawning.

Jace

I sit on the couch, watching the two, and sift through everything that happened.

I sit up and blink a few times more, my head pounding. Looking up, the image around me flickers and the writing on the walls becomes more prominent. Swallowing, I swim towards the light and pray it's the surface.

Rayah

I smile at her and sit,lifting her onto my lap.

Jackie

I'm just about to go after him when someone grabs me and covers my mouth, bringing me behind a rock. Not able to see them, I try to scream but cant, feeling something cut through my arm.

Jace

I run a hand through my hair and watch the two.

I give up and curse myself for my stupidity, flashing back to the beach and finding Jackie being dragged somewhere. I flash towards her and knock the guy senseless before something slices the back of my neck.

Rayah

Ella reaches out for Jace and I let her go.

Jackie

I scream and pain ripples through the right side of my body, the blood not stopping, Jesus christ!

Freaking out, something else slices my stomach and I go pale, Halee screaming inside of me, No.

Jace

I flash a halfhearted smile and take Ella.

My stomach churns as I glance back at Jackie, my heart stopping.

"No," I whimper, eyes locked on her stomach, "No."

I fuel my rage and jump up, knocking the guy to the side and punching him with light-laced fists until his face is bloody and unmoving.

Rayah

I watch them and swallow, leaning against the arm of the couch.

Jackie

I wrap my arms around my bloody stomach, blood still seeping from my arm, and shake my head quickly, "N-No..."

Jace

I let Ella cuddle into my chest and flash another smile, "What's up, baby girl?"

Once finished, I crawl to Jackie and take her in my arms, "We're going to go to a hospital, okay? Maybe they'll help with Halee. You two are going to be fine. Alright?"
